The report analyses the value stream map of the emergency department of a public hospital. The main drawback of the current value stream map is that the patients are waiting for a long time for emergency medication. Limits to growth, shifting the burden, eroding goals, escalation, success to the successful, tragedy of commons, fixing the fails and growth and underinvestment models are utilised to establish the argument. A new value stream map has also been discussed which can be used to solve the performance issues of the staff.
