INTRODUCTION
Discipline of the CSR broadens responsibility of the business organization beyond their
obligation to the stockholder- to environment and society. It refer to belief that a
business have obligation to the society beyond their commitments to their investors or
stockholders. Additionally, in order to generate profit, firms are expected to have few
responsibilities to the stakeholders such as customers, communities, environment and
employees (Akpoja, 2022). CSR mainly include improving labor practices, corporation
being economically responsible, mitigating environment damage, embracing fair trade
and increasing employee satisfaction. In favor of the CSR, critical thinking is very
essential as it help to understand the structure and other competitive advantages. This
report will include the purpose of applying the critical thinking to given case study,
understanding of critical thinking skills by ascertain claims made in the respective case
study and evaluation ideas which are expressed in case study based on understanding
and research of that topic.
Purpose of applying critical thinking to the given case study
Critical thinking is an analysis of any situation or issue and facts, evidence or data related
to it. This skill allows a person to make informed and logical decision to best of their ability. All
the business organizations need to think very critically to decide that what their CSR objectives or
goals are. The corporate social responsibility is about organization playing their responsible role
in the society and giving back to the society. There is no sense for a business to dive in to CSR by
tackling any project that anyone has ever associated with that concept.
Help in engaging clients and customers- Main purpose of applying critical thinking in
CSR is to engage with customers in a different way. Since message of the CSR is about
something that is good. It can often be easy mode to connect with their clients and
customers. It create a positive relationship between companies and wider communities
which lead to a potential growth in sales and profit. Further element of the critical thinking
for engagement is to aid workers see that the active support for their CSR program make a
sense given what they already value and believe in.
Improve collaboration and innovation within business- A business need to think
critically that if company taking part in the CSR activities, then it develop their a lot of
skills as workers become able to learn about the potential clients, improve leadership,
develop their communication skill and also gain invaluable local lights. These new skills
develop within workforce and allow the firm to flourish in its market (Draghici and Ivascu,
2022).
