INTRODUCTION
In the United Kingdom, people are ethnic on a very large scale because it is the country
that divides the people according to their cultural and color characteristics (Beneroso and
Alosaimi, 2020). It is found in the UK that they divide people based on their traditions and
belongingness. The UK was a country that raises the question of ethnicity in 1991. There are
many categories such as Asian, Black British or African, Gypsy, etc. They are all categories that
define ethnic groups in the UK. In this report, BAME students are undertaken to define the
difficulties or disadvantages that they face in higher education. It is very obvious that higher
education is very necessary for each and every person. But there is some situation that occurs in
the life of students that they do not receive higher education and get disadvantage in higher
education (Sanderson and Spacey, 2020). It is noticed that white students appreciate more
privilege as compared to black students. Because of that reason, Black students i.e. Black Asian
and Minority Ethnic category is established. This report covers the background of BAME
students and their difficulties that they face. It also covers inequalities that face by black students
in higher education. It is assumed that education is one of the sectors in which inequality is
removed with the help of providing a fair education system. But it is not true because it is seen in
the education system that they also discriminate against students on the basis of color, traditions,
culture, etc.

United Kingdom's education system classified its system in five stages such as early year,
the primary year, and secondary education. In addition to this, Further education and higher
education are other classifications of the education system of the UK (Fallon, Connaughton, and
Cosgrave, 2020). Every education system plays a significant role in making a student's career.

seen that there are different rules and regulations decided by the education system of the UK.
They should take approval from Privy Council under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992
and many more other permissions they should be taken for study in the UK. It is found that the
UK is the country in which most of the students come from different nations for completing their
studies. Their main purpose is to complete their degree with good grades so that they become
eligible for doing a job or start a business. But it is not easy for students because there are many
difficulties and problems face in their studies.
It is found in a research of UK that there are many students who face discrimination or
inequalities when they acquire higher education (Abdmolaei and et. al., 2020). They are those
students who come under minority sector or BAME students. It is found in a research that there
is gap of 13% between white and BAME students for attaining a good degree. It is identified and
noticed by all students who have black colour that they facing problems when they are
approaching for higher education in UK. It is not only the conversation of UK but also the all
those countries that have white population. They are thinking that black students should not be
eligible for studies. It became an important point that raising a discrimination issue. There are
forty-one universities out of 154 that not provide education to black people. It is very shameful
situation for country but they do not focus on this issue. It is also seen that in forty-six
universities of UK are not accepting the admission of Bangladeshi and Pakistani students. It is
become dreadful situation for students who want to go for study in abroad that they will become
a part of inequality and discrimination in education system. In November 2020, it is announced
or recommended by university of UK that they should take some corrective and necessary
measures for reducing racial inequalities face by students in higher education. It becomes a
urgent call for UK education system that they should focus on inequalities that they are doing
with black students (Stevenson and Baker, 2018).
It is notified by vice president of Nottingham Trent students’ union that it becomes very
necessary for students that they arise their voice in against of inequality in higher education

and wider inequalities place in system that started from roots of people. It is difficult to remove
because their thinking is limited and it is deeply rooted in society. White people get more
privilege as compared to black one. It can be easily identified from published data that white
people get more graduate degree than black one. Attainment gap is not good for society because
it harms diversity. It is find that in 2017-18 academic year, a gap between the most and least
represented groups in HE was 30.9% (Stevenson and Baker, 2018). It is necessary for country
that they should fix or tackle them. It really ruins the society message and makes bad situation
for students. Ethnicity make differences between students that white students disgrace black
colour students. White students judge BAME students only on the basis of their colour and
minority. Because of minority in BAME students other people treat them with their bad
behaviour. BAME students feels isolated because if their ill treatment (Abdmolaei and et. al.,
2020).
There is research done in University that shows that there are many students who gave
negative answers regarding education system. It is found that 83% students felt negativity when
they are going for higher education. Only 14% people are those who gives some positive words
in respect of higher education (Morley, 2020). They are always in fear so that's why they are not
feeling comfortable to make new friends. It is find that when students make the decision of
entering into higher studies is not a easy task. Because they are facing in many problems such as
black and Asian students are not accepting for taking in admission in colleges. They face some
difficulties because of their minority so white people get dominate on them. It is important for
society that it should be remove from root of people. If country want to become their name
goodwill good so they should be remove this type of thinking. Because of this thinking students
not only face difficulty in higher education but also they face problems in job and career. There
are more than ten thousand cases are file every year of BAME students that they are feeling
disadvantage in higher education system. They are compared to white students because of their
dark complexion. Their dark colour decides the behaviour that they get from white people. It is
not fair for black and Asian people that they are discriminated only because they are in minority.
Those students who are belong from Asian countries, Bangladesh, Indians, Africans, etc.
(Mahony and Weiner, 2020).

It is noticed in Universities that most of the students withdraw their studies from first
year of the college. The question that arise in every mind that why they are withdrawing from
first year of college. So the researcher asked from students that why they did that. The answer is
not good for country and society (Hamshire, Forsyth and Player, 2018). Even teachers and other
students did ill treatment with BAME students so that's they are feel isolated and demotivated.
UK's residents have white colour that's why they thought that black people are different from
themselves. They did bad treatment with black people, Asians, Africans, etc. It becomes a very
dreadful situation for minority that they cannot live on that place with peace. Every time they
feel that they will be get scolding by residential. Above mentioned example is taken from history
but there is no change after lapse of time. There were many incidents related to BAME students
already done, where white people did bad behaviour to BAME students. Sometimes BAME
students beaten by white ones. These things are not good for our society because it disgraces the
humanity. It is also noticed that they are not satisfied with the structure of higher education
system (Arday, 2021).
In many countries, it is found that white people get privilege. In simple terms, white
privilege is synonym of white colour privilege. It refers to those people that have very light or
white colour complexion. White complexion people are get more benefited as compared to black
people in each and every sector. Mostly in education system, it is noticed that black people find
less opportunities as compared to white one. In UK and many similar countries such as US are
generally give more opportunities to their people. There was a recent incident in US that former
President of US, Mr. Donald Trump gave a guideline that their residents get more opportunities
as compared to emigration one (Dowey and et. al., 2020). In simple words, their main focus was
on resident of US, that they will get more benefit in their career as well as in employment
opportunities. It was a big example of discrimination with black people and minorities. White
people enjoys invisible package of unearned assets whereas non-white do not enjoy this
privilege. It is found in each and every sector that white people get motivated and promoted
more. In education system all white people enjoys the privilege of admission in schools and
colleges easily. Emigrants and other ethnic have to follow many rules and regulations. They are
not appreciating the privilege as white people relishes it. It is a societal phenomenon that think
white people are eligible for everything and other do not (Mulrenan, Atkins and Cox, 2018).
There are many racism cases and incidents that shows a discrimination and inequality
with BAME students. In nowadays, it is noticed that discrimination is return back that had
stopped in previous years. It is identified with the examples of incidents which covers violence
not good for country and society (Hamshire, Forsyth and Player, 2018). Even teachers and other

There are many racism cases and incidents that shows a discrimination and inequality
with BAME students. In nowadays, it is noticed that discrimination is return back that had
stopped in previous years. It is identified with the examples of incidents which covers violence
and harassment in the University of Massachusetts and University of Michigan (Ali, 2020). They
show the increment in incidents with minority students. It is very shameful situation for country
because these incident arose in those period when society shows that there is downfall in the
cases of racism. Especially they were mentioned Hispanics, black people, Asians, and American
Indians. It is identified that those students who already enrolled in higher education institutions.
They are facing many cases of racial-ethnic discrimination that are increasing due to isolation
feeling. It is identified that this report is beneficial for people who has wrong thinking. Racial
incidents are divided into seven types such as physical attacks, racist remarks, cross burnings,
etc. There are some cases of racial incidents such as minority students or non-white students are
beaten by white ones. Minority students faced unfair treatment during higher studies (Abdmolaei
and et. al., 2020). There are many students who make fun of black students through portraying
pictures and cartoons in newspapers. In UK newspapers almost all editors performing this
shameful activity as they are drawing pictures of minority people for making their fun in a
derogatory light. White people continuously demean minority students because their main
purpose is to humiliate black people. These are some examples of racial incidents that face by
BAME students in their real life.

Their thoughts are very orthodox, they didn't change their thoughts and behaviour with time.

rights of human. Fundamental right of human says that person should be treated equally not
considering any colour complexion and caste or religion (Hollinrake and et. al., 2019). So it
basically violates human fundamental rights. The main agenda of each and every country is that
they make their culture and society so good. It is very important for society that they should take
measures regarding unfair treatment with minority people or BAME students. According to the
present scenario, it analysed for countries they are not performing very well for welfare of people
and society. It is a suggestion for countries that if they will not perform some corrective
measures then it becomes difficult for them (Arday, 2021). They are not able to treat or tackle
them in a appropriate way. So it is essential for each and every individual that they will not
perform such type of activities that are not good for themselves as well as for their society. It is
