By previously conducted research, reflection helps students to critically examine issues and move beyond shallow descriptive writing towards a more meaningful reflection. Consequently, this formative journal response aims primarily to discern the most important points in the study article (Entwistle 2015). Technically, a journal which is formative is a good way to examine student thinking and are most likely connected to responses to literature. Subsequently, this technique offers respondents a place to express their thoughts personally, ask questions, to predict as well as reflect, collect vocabulary and also the platform to compose their thoughts about the reflective text (Kraemer 2014). For a student, writing reflectively is paramount since it helps organize central ideas around primary arguments. For instance, writing reflectively entails a breakdown of four significant elements, that is, Describing, analyzing, evaluating and finally self-knowledge. Just as in the Cognitive Domain Taxonomy by Bloom’s and his associates, each level in the process has respective roles to play. Under the description phrase, a learner should choose one part of the learning experience and dissect its ideas to write about the initial thoughts of the article. With particular regards to Goldsworthy’s outline on the Biblical history, a map is provided for all readers and hence summarizes the general historical structure of the Bible.The second domain deals with the analysis and in this case, the learner explains what the previous learning experience means by how it was encoded (Denton 2014). In this case, the knowledge obtained is broke down into parts, and the nature of the relationships between the components is analyzed.
