from home in the pursuit of relaxation, recreation and pleasure while making use of services
provision(Tussyadiah and Pesonen., 2016). Tourism is very important for the success of many
economies on the world wide basis. There are various benefits of tourism which basically boosts
the revenue of an economy, develops the infrastructure of a country, creates lots of jobs and also
plants the cultural exchange between citizens and foreigners. In the present report, an essay is

impact has became increasingly apparent from Arctic to Antarctica. Tourism has become one of
the important player in international commerce and also represents at the same time as one of the
core income source for many developing countries. This growth has been seen from this
perspective that it has increased diversification and also have major level of competition among
destinations.

This kind of global spread of tourism in developed and industrialised states has produce
higher level of industrialised and developed states which has produced employment and
economic benefits in different related sectors. The level of contribution to tourism also depends
on this factor of economic well-being into context of quality and revenues of the tourism offer.
According to the World tourism organisation of the United Nations, it is basically about the
different tourism which is focused on industries which normally offers tourism characteristic
products and services(Tolkach and et.al., 2016). UNWTO also defined the twelve tourism
industries which can be said to be serving to the tourists into general form. These industries
basically include accommodation for services, food and beverage serving activities, road
passenger transport, railway passenger transport, air passenger transport, water passenger
transport.
In addition to this, it includes transport equipment rental, cultural activities, travel
agencies, sports and recreational activities, travel agencies, retail trade of country specific
tourism characteristic goods and other country specific tourism characteristic activities. Tourism
industry is basically the large group of these mentioned industries which provides different range
of services and product which is focused on serving the needs of visitors or travellers. This
industry is important because due to its role in the form of commercial activity which creates
growth and demand for many industries. Tourism not only contributes towards activities at
economic level but also generates revenue, employment and also has significant role in terms of
development. It is that industry which creates demand at the initial level in the form of activity
and then fulfils the demand as the group of industries. Within this industry, tourists comes from
different countries and carry the perception and image about the country and shares it to many
other people as well.
There are different types of tourism which includes recreational tourism, environmental
tourism, historical tourism, cultural tourism, ethnic tourism, adventure tourism, culinary tourism
and health tourism(Oliveira and et.al., 2020). Culinary tourism basically refers to aim on food as
an attraction for destination and exploration for tourism. Culinary tourism is also known as the
gastronomy tourism or food tourism which is a kind of exploration of food as the purpose of
tourism. It is basically considered as the important component of the experience of tourism.

It has been observed that among tourists dining out concept is very common and food is
also ranked alongside accommodation, climate and scenery as well. The tourism of culinary
becomes prominent in the year of 2001and it is a kind unique experience which is more about
drinking and eating memorable experiences. The president of international culinary tourism
association launched a white paper about the tourism of culinary(Dove., 2016). The President has
defined the tourism in such a manner that the enjoyment and pursuit of memorable and unique
drink and food experiences. According to the world food travel association, they have stopped
using this term in the year of 2012 because it has been revealed that they give the misleading
impression as well. Food tourism basically covers different kinds of experiences which basically
starts from local food carts, wineries, eateries to gastropubs. Within this type of food tourism,
drinks also covered into it.
There are different countries who are interested in terms of investing into culinary
tourism and these countries are Peru, Ireland and Canada as well. This is a kind of tourism which
includes certain kinds of activities which include taking classes of cooking, attending festivals of
food and beverages, going on tours of food or drink and shopping at special spaces of retail.
According to the food travel estimates it has been observed that it estimates beverage and food
expenses which accounts for 15 to 35 percentage of all tourism spending and also depends on the
affordability of destination as well. There are certain benefits of culinary tourism which includes

extends beyond what tourists will eat, when and where they eat and also have reason behind the
eating of that particular food. That's why they can't be related to cultural tourism where culinary
tourism can't act as the support system for cultural tourism.

abundance on a larger scale. There is a reason behind the importance of culinary tourism because
there is organisation of different food cultural festivals due to which they attract different kind of

into the context of rapidly growing the market of cultural tourism. This is a kind of tourism

Tourism can also affect the lives into negative manner because fresh water may be routed
to crops in order to sustain tourists demand for food while locals have the ability to have fresh
water and water which can be diminished(Smith., 2015). So in the overall manner, it has been
observed that culinary tourism has their own importance, advantages and disadvantages as well.
This is a tourism which brings positive growth within the economy in terms of GDP and
exchange of currencies as well but it is difficult to reduce their negative impact on the larger

that both kinds of tourism have their own benefits and advantages as well due to which it they
contribute into the context of further growth and development as well. Culinary tourism is all
about the exploration of different kinds of food of different countries and cultural tourism is all
about the exploration of different culture of different places so that both kinds of tourism can
grow themselves into positive manner. That's why tourism is very important from the perspective
of positive growth and from the financial aspect as well.
