HCS202: Promoting Cultural Safety in Community Services Workplace

This project focuses on developing two cultural safety plans to promote cultural safety within community service workplaces, one tailored for Indigenous Australians and another for a non-Indigenous Australian cultural or religious minority. The plans emphasize creating a safe and respectful environment free from discrimination and racism, addressing well-being disparities, and acknowledging the impact of colonialism on healthcare access. Key objectives include fostering a workplace culture of cultural safety, enhancing care staff capacity through effective training, integrating traditional knowledge and therapeutic methods, and improving the overall experience for individuals and communities by prioritizing their needs within a culturally sensitive, relationship-based care model. The goal is to encourage equitable access to culturally safe care, ultimately enhancing well-being outcomes for all Australians.
