Contemporary styles of Leadership
Description
In week 12, I learned about people, culture and contemporary leadership. One of the key
lesson that I grasped clearly was about the principles and practices of moral leadership. The
lesson suggested that a moral leader is one who is able to practice good ethics. This is because it
plays a crucial role in enabling the leadership to merge the interests of various parties
(Rosenbach, 2018). The lesson went ahead to suggest that good leaders should be able to do the
right thing as perceived by reasonable people.
Interpretation
Leaders are people who are emulated and set a good example for others in the society.
Since I came out of the lesson, I have always wanted to express what l learnt during the lesson. I
made it upon myself to always lead by example. I am now very honest with how I deal with my
friends and family members. I consider other people I interact with and the community to reflect
on the impact of my actions before I commit myself.
Evaluation
These traits are very significant in the society and they help to develop good relationships
with others. Practicing these traits have made me associate with others in a manner that I had not
experienced before. People trust me more and want to associate themselves with me because
they know and understand my character. I am now able to respect others and listen to their issues
without being subjective and disrespectful to them because good morals form the basis of good
reputation.

Future practice
This lesson has played a significant role in my life and now I am able to prepare myself
to become a good leader. I will be able to express myself to others in a manner that I would also
want to be treated. I have learned to be able to listen keenly to other people in the future as well
as consider my actions towards them. With these characteristics, my study will develop me to
become a good leader in the organization that am going to work.

Description
The video lesson that was presented by Richard Yohan Raju covered the topic of
leadership (Video Conferencing, Web Conferencing, Webinars, Screen Sharing, n.d). The first
statement from the presenter made me interested in the topic because it grabbed my attention and
for a few moment I questioned myself whether I wanted to become a leader. I learnt that
individuals can be able to learn to be leaders. The presenter also motivated the class that by the
end of the lesson, most of the students would want to be leaders. The key points of the lesson
was that for one to become a leader, they ought to be confident and be able to deliver on the
expectation of those whom are led (Carroll, Ford & Taylor, 2019).
Interpretation
I learnt one thing about myself as the lesson went on. I have left many opportunities in
my life that required me to take on leadership roles. Whenever I am asked to step up in various
responsibilities such as organizing a meeting, I give the opportunity to other people because I
often lack confidence.
