INTRODUCTION
Background
Montserrat is a British overseas territory within Caribbean and this is situated over Leeward
island of West indies. Montserrat is measured as 16 km in length and 11 km in width and
approximately 40km in coastline. In the year of 1995 volcano in The Soufrière Hills became
active and two third population of the island was set to flee. Later volcano activities continues
due to which vicinity of Plymouth get affected in which docking facilities was included. Initially
visitors was not allowed visit this place but this can be seen from top of Garibaldi hills which is
situated in Isles Bay. This volcano has taken lives of more than 30000 people and chain of
volcanos created. The current report is based on tourism attraction which is based on the
Montserrat Volcanic Eruption. This type of tourist attraction is attracting such persons those are
volcanologist or geologist (Park, Choi and Lee, 2019). As these people are ready to search
something which is related to geography and various historic eruptions. The significance of this
type of tourist place is a associated with attracting those people who are dealing in managing
scientific operations related to land or some volcanos. The visitors those are in association with
developing such instances through which they can admire nature and its disasters as well. This
will develop such aspects for visitors in such a way that they can acquire understanding
regarding volcanos and reasons for their eruption as well.
Rationale
The major reason for developing such tourist attraction is that this will create
understanding in relation to volcanos and geology as well. When a traveller enters into some
tourist place then this is imperative that they will look forward into it by examining their own
interest and acquisitions which they are willing to get. As in current time the need for adventure
in tourism is high due to this reason development of such place as tourist attraction can be
advantageous (Wijayanti and Damanik, 2019). The historic event of volcanic eruption is one of
the significant aspect which is regarded as the major reason for developing such tourism spot.
This is a relevant recognition which is helping the destination to grow such destinations in
appropriate manner. This historic event is commemorate for such people those are interested in
going to such places which are their comfort zone.
