INTRODUCTION
Curriculum design and material development is a practice associated the fact that
designing different topic areas associated with the respective topic of study (Jabbarova, 2020).
This project will discuss the material design and development practices. Henceforth, report will
emphasis over the profile of learner that would allow the learning abilities. Learning plan will
also develop as a part of this project. Material development would also be a part of attention
under this project. The aim of the project is to provide a evaluation over the lecture designing
and development related approaches and practices.

1. (B) Profile of learner group
The learner of this module is the 11th class of students. The students belong to the
Srilanka school from southern province. The total student is 30 in the class. The group will get a
complete information about the different recycling practices and techniques that could have been

used. The learner group belong to the middle class or the lower class economic background. The
family background of the learners are not involve educated guardians that also create major
challenges for the learners to adopt and learn new techniques and practices. The learner will get a
complete awareness about the concept and the topic. The learner group also understand the
regional language in the best way possible. The quality of living is also not very high class that
also create extra hustle for the learners to grab the complete knowledge and understanding of
different topics (Winstone, Balloo and Carless, 2020). The background of the learner is like that
they require putting extra efforts in generating resources like many of them also do some type of
job to collect and generate finances to mitigate the education related expenses. The learner of this
course is belong to all economic background and aspect. The learner group will involve all types
of economic class and category of peoples.
1 (C) Principle of material selection
The material is selected as per the different aspects. The topic is firstly evaluated and its
significance before proceeding any further in the material selection process. The entire material
over recycling is selected by searching different articles over the subject area. In academic
curriculum the quality of material that is guided to the student is very essential. Every time any
material or the article is referred to gain the complete knowledge over the subject area the quality
of the content used in the material is very important. At a priority level language that is used in
the content is also assessed whether the language is relevant and informative enough to provide
the clear understanding and knowledge over the topic of study. Certain principles associated with
the Crawford, 2002 analysis of material selection process such as Language is functional and
must be contextualised, Language development require learner engagement in purposeful use of
language, involvement of audio-visual equipment and such like principles has also included at
the time of selecting the appropriate material. Language used in the content has been a major part
of te material selection process as it is also supported by the different principles of Crawford,
2002 related to language such as teaching material must foster learner autonomy, material must
be flexible enough to cater the individual need and also the learning needed to encourage both
affectively and cognitively.
When it comes to selecting the material the individual background of the students is also
understood or taken into consideration. The students are belong to Srilanka where English is a
secondary language to be used. The learner group belong to government school that do not offer

proper command of the student over the language. The background of the learner is very
significant as it is essential for the learner to understand the language for taking out the
maximum possible learning outcomes. The personal background of the students do not motivate
them to have a better command over the language. Before proceeding further to finalise the
material personal background and understanding of the learner group has also taken into
consideration. Subject matter is another classified aspect that also needed to included when it
comes to selecting the material. Competency of the language used in the material is also a part of
material selection process. When it comes to selecting the material all these various aspects and
factors become a part of the focus area so that learner group get to entertain knowledge and
understanding with support of best level of quality content according to the needs and
requirements of the learner group.

The lesson plan is a complete details and description over the approaches undertake to
cover up the entire syllabus. This is a process or a practice adopted to identify the certain
approaches taken to process the learning as a student. The role of the learning plan is to support
the learner with effective theories and practices providing the best level of outcomes and results
as a learner (Akomaning, 2019). This is important for the learner to give emphasis to all different
learning techniques that tutor adapt to provide the quality knowledge and understanding as a
learner. Learning plan is designed strategically to direct the students with the all possible
approaches and practices as a tutor so that student can collect and grab the best level of
understanding and knowledge of the topic of study. The lesson plan is segregated into different
stages that can be projected in a certain ways.
Warmer is an initial level or stage of the lesson plan. Under this stage the tutor create an
overview about the lecture that needed to cater or the designing all the crux over the topic areas

that are covered as a part of the learning. This stage of the lesson plan is been involved under
creation of the overview or the background of the students so that they can get a clear idea about
the lesson or the topic they are about to cover as a part of the entire learning. Introduction is the
second stage of the lesson plan (Rata, 2019). This is about introducing the topic in front of all
learners. This is a stage involve introducing different areas and aspects about the topic area. This
stage cover up all aspects and stages associated with the topic of study. Introduction is also about
to create a image of the scope of the learning that needed to create. This is a very important stage
of learning as it has a contribution in motivating the learner about the different stages or the areas
or possibilities to establish about the total learning outcome as a learner.
Eliciting is a stage that involve depiction the picture surrounded to the learning topic.
This is a stage that is about to create or establishes a picture surrounded to the topic. This is a
very basic nature or characteristic of the learning. Felicitating play role in creating or
establishing an interest of the learner in the topic of study. This is a very essential part of the
learning that involve creating an interest of the learner in a topic of study (Handelzalts, 2019).
Felicitating is also about to direct the learners in such manner that students get a clear picture of
the topic of study. Many times the concepts involve under the entire topic of study as it is
obvious fact that the total topic of study is comprises with the small topic that also guided
through the technique of elicitation. This is about to create an interest of the learner with support
of image or the picture that could attract the interest of the learner towards the topic of study.
Practice is also a phase that is about to guide the learner about all the possible areas that
could grow of the learner due to entire learning. This involves testing the improvement of the
learner. This further involve analysing the areas that seek development and improvement as a
leader (Hammond and et.al., 2019). The scope of practice is huge in the learning practices that
this is about to direct the learner about all the possible areas that are already developed of the
learner and the all potential areas that seek development and improvement. This is an important
part of the learning practices undertake that this involves directing or guiding the learner about
the level of improvement or development being a learner has been adopted.
Further practice is another phase that is about to practice at more advanced level. This is
a very important and essential phase of the learning which involve practice at further advanced
level as a learner so that best possible outcomes could have been generated as a learner. This is
very much essential as a learner that this is to adopt the best possible level of development and

growth. Practice makes the learner more perfect and keen over the topic of study (Çakmak,
2019). This is essential for the learner to grab the best possible knowledge and understanding
over the topic of study. This make it more significantly as a learner to grab the best possible
knowledge by practising the same areas or study cycle. Recall the summary of lesson in the last
phase. This is about to recall the learning grabbed. This is very much important as a learner to

The three R of the concept Recycling is reduce, reuse and recycle. Reduce include buy
only in bulk. Reuse is to ensure the re-usability of the product and recycle is a step that is about
to reproduce the same product. All the three R ensure the best and optimum level of utilisation of
the resources.

Activities
The class room teaching activity is coordinated. Under this practical based learning is
provided over the topic. Tutor allocate the knowledge with support of the practice examples. The
another activity is like video based learning activity. Under this with support of video lectures
and movies teaching is conducted.
Material development process
This section is about to develop the material. This is all about involve different stages that
would entertain different stages associated with the material development practice.
Jolly and Bolitho framework
This framework is more like a theoretical way of guiding the student about the certain
topic. This is a point less form of representation of the topic of study. This is all about analysing
the entire topic with projection of theoretical framework. This is more like a theoretical way of
projection of the topic. Material developed under this practice do not hold many points rather the

pointless form of projection about the material is done. Constant level of evacuation are
coordinated under this practice. 3R concept is also used under this practice. This make the entire
content more realistic in nature that favour the learner to approach the whole learning in more
strategic manner. The framework would support the learner to take an overview about all
different areas of learning. This is more like ensuring the proper control and aspect related to
learning and cover all topic associated with the main topic. The aim of the model is to support
the best form of overall guidance over the topic of study. This is essential for the learner to
completely adopt all the requirements associated with the study so that best form of learning
outcomes could have been generated by the learner. The role of learning is about to provide the
learner a theoretical overview in respect to all different topics of study so that best form of
learning outcomes can be achieved by the learner. This is a part of the entire learning to practice
again and again all the learning gained by the student. This model is very diversified in nature as
it will support the learner to cover all the topics associated with the study and the possible sub
topics that would provide a clear overview to the learner over the topic of study. All the different
practices are adopted by the learner would empower the student to grab the complete information
over the topic of study.

The material design is a technique that is about to design the different stages associated
with the material. This is a practice adopted to provide the best form of information over the
topic of study. The process involves different stages and approaches showcase to deliver the best
form of material.
Justification of material selection
The entire material allowed learner to understand the detailed knowledge and information
over the chosen topic. The material is widely covered all different topics associated with the
respective study area. The key reason behind selection of the material for study is that it include
all the possible steps that can be taken to recycle the products and also cover the 3 R concept that
is attached with the recycling study.
