useful as it helps to give message effectively. Media is one of the most powerful sectors in the
economy of country. It is a tool in the society that includes effective democracy; well inform

of an unaware situation of pandemic situation. With the help of media, people getting aware

Social issues with digital and social media
It is already discussed that media is very important in 21st century but it have many
negative impacts which creates social issues in the society. It gives many negative impacts such
as cyber-bullying, coordination of terrorist group, relaying false information, etc. These are not
just impact on society but also create problem for industrial sector as the get wrong information
about the society view points. In US, it is identified that adolescents are continuously increase
the use of internet in everyday communication. They are now using as primary and necessary
mode of communication (Liu, Sandvik and Mortensen). Issue that comes in the individual life is
everybody is now communicate with social media but not have any real relations or connections
with people. One important issue that arises with the use of social media is cyber bullying. It is
very important for every organisation that they should focusing on reducing cyber bullying but it
can be only reduced with the help of reduction in use of social media platform (Seitkhanova and
Kudritskaya, 2020). Cyber bullying also involves hurting someone else with the use of
communication and information technologies. It is found that 95% of adolescence is presently
connected with internet and they can be attacked by cyber bullying. Another negative impact of
social media is relaying of false information. In the report of world economic forum in 2013,
they are listed massive digital misinformation which becomes the important risk in modern
society. Misinformation is not good for people because it results project of link between HIV and
AIDS by the people only because of wrong information or believe that is spread by social media.
This was very bad and it continues in the period of pandemic situation regarding vaccination
(MacLeod, 2017). Due to much false information about vaccination, people are getting
threatened from vaccinated and that’s why they are not choosing vaccination for stopping the
propagation of virus. This gifts influence on people because the speed of spreading information
is very high. It also gives support to terrorist groups as they can use social media websites in
order to recruit their supporters and also for or spreading threat and fear in the society.
Reflection
Media is very powerful which we already discussed in above section but it can be more
understandable for person because of my own experience as I am recruiting in a media company.
I experienced about media positive and negative impacts on the society but identified that it is
very important for every person that they should understand the information which is reliable or
not. Media is very important for a daily life because it gives necessary information which we
negative impacts which creates social issues in the society. It gives many negative impacts such

I experienced about media positive and negative impacts on the society but identified that it is
very important for every person that they should understand the information which is reliable or
not. Media is very important for a daily life because it gives necessary information which we
have to be learnt about it (Stanzel, 2018). But at the same time it also creates many social issues
which are not good for our society as well as for human life. Due to the miss interpretation of
media, there are many people who suffer from isolation and loneliness because of threat and fear.
I am a journalist in a media company. I saw the situation very well. With the personal experience
you are able to understand the representation of media. In the present pandemic situation in the
world, where people needs motivation but media provides fear and threat due to this virus. There
are many countries which took a good action against spreading of virus. But generally media
shows only negative news which increases the threat and fear in people. They are not showing
the actions that taken by countries for welfare of society. It can be give positive attitude to the
people still media did not do that. In that case, it is very important for every person that they
should know the facts and figures about information get from the media.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that media plays a very important role in
daily life but it is similarly create many social issues for people. That's why it is necessary for an
individual to understand the reliability of information which they get from media. They just give
importance to write information not to wrong information.
