INTRODUCTION
An interesting and challenging concept in a management is the study of organisational
behaviour. This study is related to the individuals and group of people working together as a
team. Sometimes various situations all factors interact with the study and make it more
challengeable. This report is based on Whitbread which is a British hotel and restaurant company
having headquarter in Houghton Regis, England, United Kingdom. Whitbread can be said as the
largest hotel brand in United Kingdom. This report shows the complete study of organisational
behaviour or human behaviour with various theories models and concepts. Along with this it also
give the various explanation of culture effect on organisation. The purpose of this report is to
evaluate the role of culture on employees’ motivation and how many companies use the culture
of organisation in order to gain success.

MAIN BODY
Identifying the culture in line with a theoretical model of your choice
Organizational can be said as the process of representing the pre-determined policies which
provide guidance to the employers and a part of direction (Caspersz and et. al., 2019). In simple
words it can be said that it is a complex system which involve the beliefs values and animations
of employees within the organization. In the context of Whitbread, their vision statement is a
brief and to the point. If the organisational culture of an organisation is presented in the form of a
circle it contains three layers. Outermost will be artefact middle one will be values and believe
and inner there will be underlying assumptions. Artefacts include tangible and visible aspects of
Whitbread organisational culture which include office layout open door policy dress code and
many more. These factors can observe easily by outside world. Values can't be noticed easily.
The core values of Whitbread include shared goals principles and Standards. Passion leadership
integrity quality collaboration are various core values of an organisation. Assumptions are only
for top management as many of employees remain unaware about the same It stated that the
company is not using long language and dialogues for the purpose of delivering their opinions to
public and stakeholders. Below mentioned are the organizational theories:
Bureaucracy Theory: Max Weber had introduced this theory. He introduced the concept of
authority structure and its interring relationship under this theory. He stated that there are three
types of authority in an organization which are legal authority traditional authority and
charismatic authority. The person who has authorities which are based on legal position or rank
within the hierarchy is known as legal authority. Under traditional authority various employees
follow a person as that person is from traditionally recognize Power Holding family. Charismatic
authority implies that special power or an appeal which a leader processes.
Scientific management theory: F.W. Taylor had introduced this theory in the beginning of 20
century. This theory has stated the various uses of certain steps while doing scientifically study
of each and every element of job selection and training (de Sousa Jabbour and et. al., 2018). It
also provides job specialization and mass production. He said that the employees in an
organization can be motivated by money. Scientific management theory also recommends bat
corporation is important among workers working at the same workplace as it is related to the
improvement in both productivity as well as profitability.
