INTRODUCTION
Knowledge and creativity are required while learning at a university. Knowledge is
extremely valuable and creativity helps in designing something new (Siddiq, Scherer and
Tondeur, 2016). Thus both are effective skills for seeking employment in the future. In this
report, focus will be made on demonstration of effective communication skills, reflection on
individual performance, location and evaluation of resources and thinking critically and
creatively. All of them help in seeking employment opportunities after completing education.
MAIN BODY
Demonstration of effective communication skills
Developing communication skills can help in many aspects of life right from professional
career to social gatherings to family life (The Importance of Communication Skills in Business,
2017). The communication skills which are required are as follows-
Listening- Listening is an important skill as it allows for getting the required information
which may be beneficial (Bodnar and Clark, 2017). From a student’s point of view listening is a
must so that the learning process can be carried on effectively without any kind of problems. For
this process to be carried out effectively it is needed that the distractions are minimized, notes are
taken and good questions are asked by a student. This will help in getting better employment
opportunities in the future.
Nonverbal communication- Nonverbal communication is essential for attaining success
in the future. For ensuring nonverbal communication it is required that eye contact is maintained,
the thinking is positive in nature and the responses are signaled proactively. This is important for
a student because nowadays many organizations require nonverbal communication skills and
prefer the candidates who have these skills.
Clarity and cohesion- When the communication is being done it is important that clarity
and cohesion is maintained. From a student’s point of view if clarity and cohesion is maintained
then it will help in getting the desired results and will help in becoming successful while seeking
employment.
Friendliness- Friendliness helps in making friends at the university. It also leads to
development of one’s personality (Clayton and Vickers, 2019). Thus from a student’s point of
view being friendly and having an approachable nature is very important as it guarantees success
in the future. This helps in developing personality and getting the desired job in the future.
Confidence- Effective communication develops confidence within a person. In a
university, boldness and confidence is rewarded. Also for a student it is important because it
