1.Introduction
The use of technology has provided various benefits to the young people leaving a dark
impact on them at the same time. It has become a weapon to harm people and people are
harming themselves through excessive use of technology. Texting, Emails , mobile phones, chat
rooms, webcams and websites are being used to bully peers. It has transformed into a global
problem and seen in greater percentage in countries such as Canada, the United States, Japan, the
United Kingdom and Australia as well (Carlson & Frazer, 2018). The government and the
common people also need to be aware of the consequences of cyber bullying and should discuss
about the invention strategies an possible prevention to reduce such offenses and save children
from its effects. In the Australian schools, cyber bullying has become a considerable issue. The
term refers to a repeated, aggressive and intentional behaviour conducted by a particular group of
people or individual (Casas et al., 2018). The cyber bullying involves the humiliation or
embarrassment through texts and pictures. Hence, the purpose of this report is to discuss cyber
bullying as a current issue which affects the learning and development of children in the
Australian schools today.
This research is necessary as the use of technology and devices is increasing and people
are becoming prone to such devices bringing them in school also. The report will focus on
helping the students and teachers so that they get to know that they should make the correct
decisions. Moreover, if the schools do not take proper action against bullying in a proper way, a
negative ambience can be created founded on the environment of disrespect and fear along with
weak student engagement (Cross et al., 2016). It can also lead to the parent dissatisfaction, staff
retention, bad impression of teachers on the students, low self-esteem and a feeling of insecurity.
Those students having less ambition in life fail to influence others in reaching their goals in life.
