2CYBER LAW ENFORCEMENT Cyber Law EnforcementCyber Law Enforcement Organizations Some of the cyber law enforcement organizations in the US include Homeland security (HS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and National white collar crime center (NWCC). HS is owned by the federal government whose mission is to provide coordinated and swift response in the event of a cyberattack and other emergencies while collaborating with federal and other partners to support an effective recovery strategy. Homeland security is at the forefront of the government’s cybersecurity defense strategy and is actively involved in defending against sophisticated cyber threats [ CITATION The163 \l 1033 ]. Federal Bureau of Investigation is a federal government agency which plays a key role in safeguarding the country against security threats. This agency’s mission is to investigate and prevent cyberattacks and technology crimes (Moore, 2010). The federal government has increased its budget to enhance its cyber defense capabilities which play an instrumental role in investigating and mitigating cyber threats. National White Collar Crime center is another agency of the federal government involved in cyber law enforcement. The organization supports organizations involved in preventing or investigating cyber-crimes. It coordinates with other federal agencies to provide training and research which is vital in tackling high tech crimes or cyberattacks targeting public or private sector.
