1 DATA AND INFROMATION MANAGEMENT Project Preliminaries The project is being conducted by the AusEd Inc organization which provide online education to students all around the world. The main subjects that are being taught by the organization are infromatgion Technology and Business. The organization is looking to develop their online education system that would help the students across the world in receiveiung education without actually having to vist the instiututions. The proejct is to develop an accounting infromation system for themselves so that they can diversify tgheir business and the reduce the overall cost for their business. The organization is looking to upgrade oon the already adopted MYOB software and add an off line moodel in the system and the ctreate photo exams on the system. System services The description of the system services that are planned by the organization are provided below: Off-lin Moodle:The students would be able to matian their personal details on their system which is available on all the platforms such as Windows and MacOS. In additon to this, when the student goes online the personal data of the students stored on the local database in the system of the student would be synchronized with the data in the server of the organization. Photo Exam:The photo exam is the one in which the students can give the tests from their system. The eaxmination would open in the systems of the student provided they are connected to an internet connection in their personla computers. The photocopies of the examintaions would be stored effeciently in the system of the students. The data in the system of the student and the current location of the system is also copied by the server.

The student would be able to access all the course lecture materials and the other required resources from the systems. System context daigram Description of the context of the system The main process is the online education system. The system aims providing the student educstions online so that they are not required to vists the institutaiuon to receive the educations. Themain entituies if the system are the students, evaluators, tutors and theaccounts that would be interacting with the systems and the messages in the systems would be flowing from the eneties to the system and the vice versa. The students would be able to perform the actions such as logginh into the system, registering into the system ans in return they would be fecthing the course details and the study materials from online system. In addion to this, the tutors wouldproviding the education online on the system and they would be receiving salary from the system in return. The evaluators would be retreiving the assignements submitted on the system from the database in the server of the organization and
3 DATA AND INFROMATION MANAGEMENT in return the feedbacks would be sent on the system by the evaluators. The accounts entity would deal with the payments and finances in the system. The accountgs would receive the payments from the students and in return the invoices would be returned to the student via the system from the accounts entity. System functional requirements The functional requiremnets of the Aus Ed Inc online education system is used by the students to asisst them in their education. The main funcational requirements of the system are registration, and uploading and downloading of important study materials online and storing them on online data storage area. Lists of system functions The list of funcations of the system are provided below: FunctionDescriptions LoginThe students would be able to login in to the online courses with the login credenatials provided to them. RegistrationThe students would be able to provide the details on the system and perform the registration operartions. They would be able to make payments for the courses they enrol themselves into. The tutors would also be able to performs several functions in the systems.
12 DATA AND INFROMATION MANAGEMENT However, there are various funcations which are out of scope of the system. The interaction in between the students and the tutors are very difficult in the system. There is no communication options or chatting options available in the system. In additon to this, the system has different login credentials for the different type of users on the system. The login id and password for that of the students are different, than that of the tutors or the staffs in the systems.Hence,withimplementationofafewtoolsthatwouldbehelpfulinthe communication process within the system.
