Report
AI Summary
This report provides an overview of data communication interface standards, focusing on RS-232, InfiniBand, and iSCSI. It details synchronous and asynchronous connections, highlighting the differences in data transmission and coordination. The report also explains frequency-division multiplexing (FDM) and time-division multiplexing (TDM) techniques, illustrating their applications in signal transmission. The document concludes with a bibliography referencing key sources in the field of data communications and networking. Desklib provides access to this and other solved assignments for students.

INTERFACE STANDARDS (continued)
• RS-232 is the first interface introduced in
the 1962 and made the great impression in
the history of the interface.
• Most common example of this is EIA-232F,
which consists of ITU V.28 standard, ISO
2110 standard and ITU V.24. EIA-232F offers
wireless connection, which is called full
duplex.
• InfiniBand used the both fiber optics and
copper wire cable to deliver the high speed
data transmission up to 10 gigabits per
second.

INTERFACE STANDARDS (continued)
• can connects number of devices but
interconnection of devices is somehow
lower than InfiniBand with 126 devices
ability.
• Speed is more or less same as InfiniBand up
to billions of bits per second.
• iSCSI is the modified version of the SCSI
introduced to utilize the disc storage
through internet and for this it has been
much easier for user to connect the
computer with the disk storage.

SYNCHRONOUS CONNECTION
• Synchronous connection used to
connects sequence of characters
may be hundred or thousand or
more than thousand characters
varies in size.
• The whole process that is beginning
and termination sequence of this
Synchronous connection are called
flags which comprises the length of
8bits.
• Flag contains more than one or
sometime one bytes of control
information which in term
generated information of enclosed
data or can send the status
information to the receiver or
sender.

ASYNCHRONOUS CONNECTION
• Whereas Asynchronous connection,
uses the transmitter, receiver and a
wireless connection.
• Coordination between two ends is
missing in this type of communication.
when the signal is given by the
transmitter to represent the single
digital bit (Nesbitt et al., 2014).
• Sending data requires the same
decoding or encoding method occupied
by both the receiver and sender end.

In this system series of non overlapping frequency brands are obtained from total
bandwidth carrying specific signals In this type several Independent signals
shared a single optical fiber. Most common example is the television or radio.
