INTRODUCTION
Data communication can be defined as the communicating through data from place to
another with the help of networking through the use of internet. It basically means that sharing or
exchanging of data among different branches of an organization (Hu, Guo, Yi, Baker and Lan,
2018). Organization chosen here is the Zoo, they have to establish the networks for better
management and operations of their offices at different location so that they can communicate
easily and comfortably. They decided to establish the LAN (Local Area Network) for their
operations. The following discussions are made on the benefits of the networking in the zoo,
establishing the local area network of the zoo, foreground services and background services of
the zoo, security issues of networking and preventive measures for the same with proper findings
and conclusion in context of the zoo.

Benefits of local area network in Zoo
Resource sharing
It is one of the benefit of local area network in zoo that is the resource sharing which
means that zoo is benefited with the sharing services of the networking, they can use the
hardware and software devices from one place to another on a shareable basis which can save
time and energy of the zoo.
Software application sharing
It is an another benefit of local area network in zoo that is the software application which
means that it can be possible for the zoo that to install the software application on one systems
but it can be usable with other systems as well (Lu, Zhang, Hu, Yi and Lan, 2019)
Easy and cheap communication
It is also the one of the benefit of local area network in zoo that is the easy and cheap
communication which means that operation with the networking is easy and cheap as it renders
the communication over the networks in a comfortable manner with low cost benefit.
Centralised data

It is also an another benefit of local area network in zoo that is the centralised data which
means that zoo can store the data and information on the central system for better security and
also it gives the facilitations of storing, retrieving, deletion and modifications of data.
Data security
It is one of the benefit of local area network in zoo that is the data security which means
that data and information which is stored by the zoo on the central system over the network is
secured and safe from being hacking or loosing it, so basically it proves prevention of data from
spoiling it.
Internet sharing
It is an another benefit of local area network in zoo that is the internet sharing which
means that zoo is benefited because of the sharing of the internet from place to another branches
of the zoo in order to share so many things over the network along with the internet which makes
the management of the zoo more efficient (Hu, Yi, Guo, Lan and Zhang, 2018)
Good speed
It is also the one of the benefit of local area network in zoo that is the good speed which
means that zoo can perform their management and operations in a very good speed which makes
them potential working in the offices by the employees.
Cost effective
It is also an another benefit of local area network in zoo that is the cost effective which
means that zoo is benefited with the cost saving as there is very low cost required to install and
maintain all such networks and can invest that saved cost in some other productive thing.
Easy set up
It is one of the benefit of local area network in zoo that is the easy set up which means
that if zoo thinks to establish the networking then they can easily go for it because it is easy to set
up and manage which not only saves time and energy but cost as well (Akhtar and Ergen, 2018)
Maintenance is easy
It is an another benefit of local area network in zoo that is the maintenance is easy which
means that technology requires updates and maintenance from time to time for proper safety and
security and therefore, it is necessary to maintain which is easy so zoo can easily establish the

which means that zoo can easily share the files from its one branch to another to share some
significant data to other employees who are placed at different locations (Obeidat, Asif, Ali,
Dama and Abd-Alhameed, 2018)
Instant messaging
It is also the one of the foreground services which is helpful for the zoo that is the instant
messaging which means that zoo is benefited because of the speed provided by the networks
established by them as it renders the instant or immediate passing on the information from place
to another.
Printing
It is also an another foreground services which is helpful for the zoo that is the printing
which means that the zoo is benefited with the hardware sharing as well through the LAN
networks such as printers which provides printing services in a shareable manner which saves
cost as well.
File server
It is one of the foreground services which is helpful for the zoo that is the file server
which means that it also provides the servers specifically for the files because it is an essential
thing which is operated by the zoo, without file servers, it can be unable for the zoo to manage

It is an another foreground services which is helpful for the zoo that is the WWW (World
Wide Web) which means the internet that is the networks of networks which provides n number
of services to the zoo which is widely accessible for the necessary information to find out which
also helps in data analytics as well.

It is one of the background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the DNS (Domain
Name System) which means that zoo is benefited by having the decentralised naming system of
the computer which contains the phone book of the domains which becomes easy for the zoo to
operate it.

Transfer Protocol) which means that zoo is benefited with the service of file transfer from one
place to another over the network with safety and security which includes the data packets in it.
SMT
It is also the one of the background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the SMT
(Surface Mount Technology) which means that the zoo is benefited because of the service like
electrical components are mounted directly onto the surface of a printed circuit board (Nguyen,
Arifuzzaman, Yu and Sato, 2018)
POP
It is also an another background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the POP
(Post Office Protocol) which means that the zoo is benefited as this gives the service of E-mail
delivery system in a very easy and speedy manner for better communication among the systems
over the networks.
DHCP
It is one of the background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the DHCP
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) which means that zoo is benefited as it renders the
services of network management and control the traffic on the networks for easy going of the
data and information.
ICMP
It is an another background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the ICMP
(Internet Control Message Protocol) which means that zoo is benefited as it provides services
like to detect errors, sends error messages and rectify the same for the smooth transferring of
data among various offices of the zoo.

File Transfer Protocol) which means that it contains the file which is present on the key host
which provides the lock on the file to access it that renders proper security in favour of data of
the zoo.
AAA
It is an another background services which is helpful for the zoo that is the AAA
(Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) which means that zoo is properly authenticated,
authorised and accountable by installing the AAA framework technology which renders an
appropriate safety to the data and information of the zoo.

Configuration problems
It is one of the security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN that is the
configuration problems which means that while establishing the networking of LAN in a Zoo's
system, there can be misconfiguration and incomplete configuration which can spoil ghe
working of the network in future.
Denial of services
It is an another security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN that is the
denial of services which means that a zoo can suffer the large amount of traffics such as viruses
to hijack the data and resources or introducing backdoors over the network (Hua and Shunwuritu,
2021)
Passive capturing
It is also the one of the security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN
that is the passive capturing which means that a zoo can suffer eavesdropping in the range of
access points to majorly capture the sensitive and private information.

the rogue which means that zoo can suffer the connection of the fool devices to that of the false
access points in order to control the system or data which is mandatory for the zoo.
Evil twin attacks
It is one of the security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN that is the
evil twin attacks which means that zoo can suffer the impersonating legit access points with a
stronger signal to entice authorized users to sign on (Zhang, Patras and Haddadi, 2019)
Hacking
It is an another security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN that is the
hacking which means that zoo can suffer the cracking of the passwords to gain access to the
private information of the zoo's central system to spoil the operations of the management.
Freeloading
It is also the one of the security issue which a zoo can face after setting up of the LAN
that is the freeloading which means that zoo can suffer the unusual loss in connection and can
interrupt the file sharing over the internet which lowers the speed of working of the zoo.
Preventive measures
Authentication
It is one of the preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN security
issues that is the authentication which means that zoo can adopt the authentication on private
data and information so that it can be saved from any intrusion to manage the zoo's operations in
a proper way.
Authorization
It is an another preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN security
issues that is the authorization which means that zoo can adopt authorization on sensitive data
and information so that it can remain confidential within the Zoo premises to better enhance the
working of the zoo (Mao, Hu and Hao, 2018).
Encryption
It is also the one of the preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN
security issues that is the encryption which means that the zoo must encrypt their personal

information in the form form coding or decoding so that it can be understandable for the
employees of the zoo only and for any outsider.
Software and hardware firewalls
It is also an another preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN security
issues that is the software and hardware firewalls which means that zoo must install the various
firewalls to protect the hardware and software devices in order to safeguard the technology for
the zoo.
IDSs
It is one of the preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN security
issues that is the IDSs (Intrusion Detection System) which means that zoo must install this
system so that intrusion can easily be detected and rectified by the management to protect the
networking of the zoo (Shen, Chang, Shen, Liu and Sun, 2018).
IPSs
It is an another preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN security
issues that is the IPSs (Intrusion Prevention System) which means zoo must set up this system in
order to prevent the networking of the zoo from the intrusion which makes the working of the
zoo more easy and effective.
Physical security measures
It is also the one of the preventive measure which a zoo can take up to face the LAN
security issues that is the physical security measures which means that zoo should also adopt
another features such as strong password, antivirus, training and development to employees
about the technology and many more.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded that data communication is an important part of an organization if it is
expanded in different locations and highly needs coordination among the communication ways
among the employees to share the resources from one place to another to make ease in the
management and operations. In order to apply such concepts of data communication in the real
time organizations, it is important to analyse the benefits of the networking in the zoo, it is
essential to examine the establishment of the local area network of the zoo, it is necessary to
determine the foreground services and background services of the zoo and it is significant to

study about the security issues of networking and preventive measures for the same. Hence, this
report covers all such areas to better understand the conception of the data communication.
