INTRODUCTION
Business intelligence combines the data mining, business analytics, data visualisation,
data tools and the infrastructure and the best practices for helping organisation to make the data
driven decisions. BI had strangled history as the buzzword. The traditional BI, capital letters and
others were developed as sharing information system. More than specific BI covers methods and
processes for storing, collecting and analysing the data from the business operations or the
activities for optimising performance. It helps the business in better decision making by
presenting the historical and current data within business context. The analysts could leverage
the BI for providing performance and competitors the benchmarks for making organisation to
run more efficiently and smoother. Businesses are using data handling processes and BI for
identifying the ways through which it could increase the profits analysing customer behaviour,
tracking performance and optimising the operations and several other business issues. Present
report will discuss about the different data mining tools and techniques of Smile Clinic using the
different tools like excel and SPSS. It would provide how visualisation helps in making data
easier and simpler to understand by the different users.
PART 1
Presentation of Data using Pivot table
Pivot table in the excel is an important tool which is used to sort, summarise, group,
reorganise, or to compute average of the data stored in table. It allows the users in transforming
rows to columns and vice versa. It also allows the grouping by field and using the advanced
calculation over them (Sun, Sun and Strang, 2018). It is statistical tool which is used by the
business to make various decisions and also to summarise the large data sets into groups so that
they could be presented in the graphical format properly.
