INTRODUCTION
Business intelligence mainly refers to the group of processes and technologies which
assists in converting the raw data into useful information which helps in driving profits to the
business. It is a suite of the software and the services which is being helpful in the
transformation of data into the actionable intelligence. The chosen article is on the analyzing
the strategic impact of the business intelligence utilization over the Malaysian public listed
company. The article “Realizing the strategic impact of business intelligence utilization”
states about the important of Malaysian Public Listed Companies to the Malaysian economy
and how the use of BI can be useful in optimizing the business. It has three major impact
which are – enhancing the economic performance, strengthening environmental performance
and reinforcing social performance.
LITERATURE REVIEW
This article is in the context to the Malaysian public listed companies which
highlights about the impact of BI on the companies and the way in which it can help in
attaining sustainability. The paper argues that the just adoption of the BI without anu
utilization in the business processes and the decision making will not create any value and the
positive impact of it can be seen by making it useful in across all the functional areas. The
purpose of the author in writing the article is to identify and realize the impact of BI
utilization in regard to the Malaysian public listed companies (Lim and Teoh, 2020). The
author Yu Yin Lim works as a consultant in offering coaching and the consultancy services
for growing organization and striving towards sustainability and Ai Ping Teoh is a lecturer at
Faculty of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She is specialized in BI, enterprise system,
Web-based Strategy etc.
With the upgradation in the technology has resulted into involvement of the
software’s and the technological system which provides support to the business organisations
in effectively analysing and interpreting the financial data which has resulted into increasing
the importance of the concept which is being only possible because of the ‘big data’ as given
in the article. The BI is being adopted by the most of the large organizations which has
helped them in effectively analysing the business results by making a comparison between
the present and the historical data from the business point of view (Ain and et.al., 2019).
Malaysian public listed companies play an important role in economic development and
growth of the Malaysian economy and therefore, business sustainability is a major concern.
Thus, the businesses can attain sustainability through the way of empowering the business
