INTRODUCTION
The field of pharmacy (filed) is connected to medicines. In which you get an opportunity to serve
people along with career. Well nowadays, students get a lot of options to make a career. But the
medical line is such that one always gets lots of job scopes. This project report consists of data
analyses and portfolio of complaints received and patient survey. It is based on recommendation
regarding which pharmacy should be closed in line with British Operations wider business needs.
1. Data Analyses
Data analysis is the process of extracting information from data. It involves several steps,
including setting up data sets, preparing data for processing, implementing models, identifying
key findings, and creating reports. The goal of data analysis is to find actionable insights that can
inform decision making. Data analysis can include data mining, descriptive and predictive
analysis, statistical analysis, business analysis, and big data analysis (Gelman and et.al., 2013).
In this case; two types of data is given; complaints received and patient survey. All the
complaints are based on ethical practice by each pharmacy. Ethics is a branch of conduct /
behavior that defines the concept of right and wrong within society. The ethics defined by
different societies are very similar. This concept is simple because every human being is
different from each other so sometimes it can also be a cause of conflict. Both ethics and
aesthetics are sub-branches of a branch of philosophers called ecology. The concept of morality
is mainly based on the culture and religion of a society (Hair and et.al., 1998).

The above table shows category wise number of complaints received from each pharmacy. The
report indicates Deerway road has received maximum number of complains compared to other
pharmacies. Topside Street has lowest number of complaints received, but these data’s are not
enough to decide which pharmacy performs well and which one bad. To get rid of this situation,
all the complaints have given weightage according to damage to customer based on problem
generated. For instance; problem generated through wrong prescription drugs have highest
weightage equivalent to 1; because it can result in loss of life of customer and on the other hand
long way location of pharmacy from public transport options doesn’t have direct impact on
patient so it has given 0.2 wightage (Daley, 1993). All the three pharmacies have different
number of complains, hence it is converted into proportion for each complain. Below is the
comparison of each pharmacies based on proportion of complain received with reference to total
number of complains:

Interpretation: After comparing all three pharmacies; it was found that, maximum percentage of
complain received by Wickham Avenue is in category F category, which implies “The customer
was told to take too many/too few non-prescription drugs”. This category has wieghtage
equivalent to 0.4 out of 1. Hence, it is not under critical situation. Second pharmacy has

too many/too few prescription drugs” and having weightage equivalent to 0.6 which is higher
than first pharmacy. At the end, third pharmacy also shown 27% complains in same category.
Therefore, after analyses of pie chart result of all three pharmacies it was found that, Deerway
Road is under most vulnerable condition compared to other two (Sillup and Porth, 2008).

Interpretation: The above chart shows weightage wise categories; for instance, category B, G
and I have higher number of chance to danger of life. Hence, above chart shows that, Deerway
Road has least chance of any problem; which can danger the life of patient. While, Wickham
Avenue shown two high chance of danger to life out of three (Category B and I). Therefore,
based on these analyses, Wickham Avenue is in most vulnerable condition, as it has highest
probability of danger to patient’s life and hence violates ethical issues (Adobor, 2012).
2. Analyses based on Patient Survey
This survey is based on average rating based on facilities provided to patient by three
Pharmacies. The result of ratings based on scale 1 to 4; has been given below:

2. Analyses based on Patient Survey
This survey is based on average rating based on facilities provided to patient by three
Pharmacies. The result of ratings based on scale 1 to 4; has been given below:
Wickham Avenue 2.42
Topside Street 2.22
Deerway Road 2.94
The average ratings shown in the above table includes whole rating of facilities provided by the
pharmaceutical firms to patients. The result shows that Deerway Road has highest rating given
by patients. The problem with these analyses is unequal number of respondents in each case of
Pharmacy; for instance Wickham Avenue has 902, Topside Street has 1254 respondents and
Deerway Road has only 540 respondents; but still average rating has been taken as base for
comparison (Appendices).
Recommendation
Based on the analyses of Patient survey and complain; Deerway Road found standing out of
league and hence cannot be closed. Now there’s two choices; weather to close Wickham Avenue
or Topside Street. Part 2 of analyses suggest to close Topside based on rating but part 1 of
analysis suggests closing Wickham based on danger to patient’s life (Santoro and Gorrie, 2005).
So, decision based on data is not possible here, other factor required to be considered here.
Therefore, to break this tie, ethical issue has been prioritize over rating method and it is
recommended that Wickham Avenue should be closed based on danger to the life of patients
(Corrigan and Tutton, 2004).
