Introductions
The application of database can be applied in many aspects. The use of the database
entirely depends on the organization functionalities and set objectives. In understanding the
company application of the DB one can be able to understand all the major characteristics and
features of the relational DB and the roles they play in creating and communication in the
business intelligence (Cheung, 2012). After understanding such technical knowledge one can be
able to know the knowledge and the associated skills used for the creation of the information at
the workplace by use of spreadsheets as well as the relational Dbs. (Groomer and Murthy, 2018).
Lastly in tackling the given scenario one can have knowledge such as being able to communicate
with IT professionals, the involved stakeholders and the users of such group of IS.
In the case study, Butler is a financing company that usually runs mortgages brokerage
businesses matching with the lenders and the borrowers. As a company there exist different
stakeholders in making such a reality. It usually holds the information used for maintaining the
borrower and lenders accounts. In this concept, data is described to be stored in the spreadsheet
and thus it must be manually updated for each new borrower, lender or even a mortgage. Most of
the time, there exists so many errors which are prone and sometimes they can harm the business
in many aspects. The table shown in the case study has been generalized and thus showing a lot
of redundancies and thus there is need to do normalisation and thus designing the tables in a
given database specifying the entities in full with all their attributes. The problem of updates has
led in to an idea of creating a database that will help in reduction of such duplications and thus
allowing the concept of specialization other than too much generalization as it is in the current
situation.

Justification of the use of the Database
When working with spreadsheets it will be easy for one to know that some information
has been duplicated. Ideally for any information to be and thus able to eliminate such
redundancies. Ideally, for one to know the best of all of them it will be good to know what
database implementation will do to the existing spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet has information of more than one entity and thus making it more of
generalized other than being specialized. In understanding how the database is implemented it is

system. Through the use of database, it will be easy to use data validation as one can be able to
type any type of data in the spreadsheet unlike in the database where one must specify the data
type and size. A good example is typing the text on the lender number.
