Sociology enables the researchers in understanding the concept and to gain deep
knowledge related to human behaviour, social issues, social change, culture and organization
(Stets and Turner, 2014). The study also has focus on social change in global community (Stets
and Turner, 2014). It enables the researcher to think on global issues and policies. A overview of
literature in sociology of sociology indicates that the authors have lot to say on the topic, they
can explain sociology and the way its practised but they have nothing to say how sociology is
taught. This book also focuses in the various sociological approaches. The chapter in the books
also contain the argument related to teaching sociology (Patulny, Godbold and Olson, 2015).
Contribution of Rebecca is extremely important in the field of sociology. Through the text book
author has defined sociology and key areas related with the same.
Rebecca has described about social changes which has impact on the social condition of
the society. Author has discussed about inequality, social stratification, justice, law and society
that is the major contribution in sociology, social welfare and policies making (Stets and Turner,
2014). Rebecca has worked in the higher position within American sociological Association and
