INTRODUCION
Workplace demands today call for an increased flexibility in the ways which individual
employees as well as teams make and implement various decisions. Employees working in
different organizations today, demand for more flexibility in the way that they work. This has led
to the introduction of concept known as work from wherein employees can work from their
respective homes effectively (Engin and Vetschera, 2017). Apart from this, the decision-making
process within companies has also changed significantly over the years. This report is a
reflection based on the decision-making preferences, processes as well as tools that a person uses
on a day to day basis.
MAIN BODY
Decisions Made
The organization that I worked in was dealing with issues relating to the target customers
and how their feedbacks and needs were not being addressed by the existing employees
effectively. The management was worried that the company might not lose its customer base
because that would affect the overall profitability as well as the performance in the market.
Therefore, by analyzing all the possible reasons behind the problem, the manager of our team
took the decision of providing training all team members. He even advised us to keep our
knowledge about the products and services offered by the company updated so that we could
easily address the concerns of customers. I considered this advice to be useful as it could help me
not only in building a strong relation with the customers, but also address their problems in a
much more effective way. This could further be beneficial for the company as it would gain loyal
customers. This was also important because being a current employee within the company I
sometimes found it difficult to understand the concern that a customer was trying to raise.
Sources of data and use of decision-making tools to make decisions
There are various data-driven tools that are used for the process of decision-making like
descriptive analytics, predictive analysis, prescriptive and diagnostic analytics (Grubb, Brown
and Hall, 2018). Descriptive analytics can be defined as interpreting historical data so as to
understand the changes that have taken place in a business. It also helps in making effective
decisions that can further contribute to the overall growth of the company. It is an important
