Introduction
Decision plays an important role in life for addressing any issues whether related to
professional or personnel life. The right choice of the decision would encourage in
establishing the effective pyramid of life. The major aim of this report is to demonstrate the
importance of choosing an effective decision-making tool in comparison to other tools. This
report would also examine the impact of a decision that eases my life. The first decision was
enrolling me in some extra curriculum activity. Apart from this, another major decision was
shifting to a new rent in a new area. Both the decision has made me think critically for
finding better opportunities for myself.
Major Decision
In general, we decide in every moment of our ongoing life. However, I would focus
on one personnel daily decision that is joining any extra activity apart from academics.
Initially, I was not sure about opting for any extra curriculum activity because I was already
having my regular schedules and I was unsure of taking out time for effective justification for
any other activities. Making the right decision from multiple alternatives is the key to an
effective decision-making approach. However, I was confused about making a decision and
therefore based on my intuition, I decided on joining baking classes. Intuitive decision
making is based on the guts feeling and optimistic. I am interested in baking and often end up
watching multiple baking recipes and try to replicate the same in my spare time. On contrary
to this decision, now I would focus on a major decision that I had to take for multiple reasons
or factors. That decision was finding a new place to stay as I was staying in my aunt's house
and she was moving out of the city. I was not well aware of many places within the city and
therefore, for developing the most reliable decision, I opted for a rational decision-making
tool. A rational decision-maker is also an effective approach and with the help of multiple

methods and analysis, this decision-maker tool has resulted in bias-free decisions (Akinci &
Sadler-Smith, 2011).
Evaluation
The best part of the intuitive decision-maker made me think about myself, my own
choices and dislikes. After every tiring day, I would try baking some of my favorite dishes to
release my stress. And intuitive decision-making tool has pushed me for joining in the
effective training procedures that provide baking classes. Sometimes, the time becomes too
constraints to maintain however, ultimately I do find extra time for this extra activity. On
comparing with the other decision, I used rational decision making and decision making tree
approach. I needed an affordable cost rent and also nearer to my institution as well as baking
class. With the help of decision making tree analysis, I found a perfect rented place to stay
that has many other multiple advantages too.
Analysis
The baking class is a continual daily activity that I need to attain and learned.
Therefore, an intuitive decision-maker is perfect comparing to another decision-making tool.
This tool helps in better understanding and analysis of our feelings. My passion for baking
has been identified with the intuitive decision-maker and other tools such as rational decision
making or balance-wise decision-making tools would not have resulted effectively as an
intuitive decision-maker style. The gut feeling towards learning baking is pushing me every
single day in learning new techniques to bake (Sadler-Smith & Shefy, 2004). However,
rational decision-maker has a huge impact on me in finding the perfect rental house for
myself. I have used the decision tree for a better analysis of my preferences. I was searching
for a place that needs to be budget-friendly, pet-friendly and near to my institute and baking
class. Rational decision making gives the best solution by gathering every sources and

information and then rationalise the best choice from the available alternatives. Even in the
business world, rational decision-maker helps enormously to the managers for taking the
effective decision in strategy management or maybe for setting up the vision of the
organisation. According to Wierenga (2011), decision tree with the help of flowchart and
another computer modeling, the feelings and the risk of bias can be reduced and can provide
effective decision towards the objective of an organisation.
Feedbacks from class members
I have shared my experience with my classmates and found that they were satisfied
with my decision. They have also appreciated me in implementing the use of decision-
making tools or style in daily activity for achieving the best outcomes. However, they have
found that rational decision-makers strictly follow the algorithm without considering

without considering the feelings or expressions would lack in applying appropriate wisdom.
This reason has made the rational decision-maker a blind spot and suggested that a balanced
wise decision-maker is an effective approach for selecting a house. The wise decision-maker
would consider both intuitive modes and rational/logical decision modes (Dhami, &
Thomson, 2012). However, I personnel believes that it is a time consuming approach.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that I had a great experience in gaining knowledge on the
implication of decision-maker style. Right from making day to day activity to a major
problem in life, a decision is an effective key element for choosing the right option from the
multiple alternatives. Decision tree analysis was an effective tool for making an easy flow for
formulating an effective decision towards my objectives.
Action of Plan
As I have received feedback on the implementation of a balanced wise decision-
maker, I would try to implement that model for making any decision from daily activity.
Though I believe it is a time-consuming approach, however, I would try for it. It also takes
into consideration multiple people or individuals in making an effective decision. Therefore,
my future action would be implementing this particular framework of wise decision.
