Challenge and Change Project
Fiction writing was developed as an intellectual tool to allow philosophers to create imaginary
conversations and arguments with people who could never have met in real life. For example, what would
George Washington have said to George W. Bush? This project is done in the same spirit.
Use Karl Marx, Antonio Gramsci and Emile Durkheim and write a short script about what would
happen if they met and talked about the importance of groups like Democracy Watch (Refer to A2
below).
• All social scientists and textbook content can be used for this project
• Social scientists must reference their work within the script; they should also make reference to the
information about Democracy Watch that you find through your research
• Scripts may contain comedy, but must also take a serious look at these theorists’ views

Democracy Watch: Key Points
Democracy watch is based on independent non-profit, non-government organization with vision to
establish the democratic culture and value. It always creates conscious citizens, who will
participants as champions of good governance. They always monitor human rights and ensure the
proper freedom through expression (Williamson, 2019). This type of democracy watch emerged in
1995 and become registered in social groups. It was founded in 1993 and successfully lobbied for
legal changes into existing Canadian laws.

overall performance. The democracy watch hold itself whereas government follows same standards
to distribute information of other parties. Sometimes, they must be taken important decision. “
