Nurses are the frontline of healthcare delivery as it provides the high-quality care, safe
and assuring positive patient outcomes. The position of registered nurse in nursing stream is the
formal role where he/she has to handle all the co-workers and all paper work which is related to
hospital in order to helps the doctors. At this position, the nurse has to play the role as a leader in
order to supervise the team. Apart from it, he/she has to handle the patients and their families to
take care of them so that they do not face any challenges. Take care of patient is the main duty of
registered nurse that has to be fulfilling with the leadership qualities. At this position, the nurse
has to perform their duties as a leader. Registered Nurse is a nurse who has to be graduated from
a nursing department and it has to meet the desires those are outlined by a country, state,
province or similar licensing body in order to obtain a nursing license of registered nurse
(College Grad, 2020).
Democratic leadership style is the best style for this formal role of nursing as in this role,
the nurse has to handle multi activities due to which the chances of conflict among members has
been arises. According to this leadership style, the nurse has to involve the other members so that
they take participation in order to take decision. The performance of the other junior staff has
been improved as they have the opportunity to involve in decision making process and represent
their own opinion that helps to achieve the success. As per this leadership style, the people
should be appreciated for their work. The nurse should also appreciate its team to perform all
activities of outside the patient apartment without any worry so that learn new things and they
perform jobs effectively to achieve the success (Cherry, 2020).
