INTRODUCTION
The report will cover basic description to some legal framework that supports health and
social care services (Dyer, 2018). National Health Services will be taken as consideration to
address the mentioned requirements of report. It will describe the importance of technologies in
healthcare services and set ups.
THEME 1
Legislation related to health and social care
Healthcare legal framework provides standardized services to community and derive
quality of practices to health carers (Martin and et.al., 2015). Legislation related to health and
social care are-
Health and Social Care Act, 2012 has integrated different social and health care services in a
centralized reform to overcome significant health issues persisting in community.
Care Act, 2014 has included legal components and standards to safeguard adults from issues like
abuses. It has provisions of Human Rights Act, 1998 for equal right and support to each patients
and provide them different rights related to safeguard their own health issues.
Public Health Act, 1875 was enacted to maintain high level of safety measures with the help of
local communities to safeguard public from diseases and health issues like Cholera. It has a
provision to support public by controlling water supplies, sewers reparation and managing other
building standards.
National Assistance Act, 1948 came into force to support physically disabled community by the
help of different local authorities (Pencheon, 2018). Section 47 of act has up- scaled status of
disabled people. It has introduced provisions for handicapped, elderly, sick individuals and
provide them utmost support.
Mental Health Act, 1983 consists provisions to safeguard patients suffering from severe mental
disorders. The act had been upgraded in year 2007 which significant alterations in respect to
mental health carer and sufferers. The alterations in Mental Health Act has improvised
supervision of patients. It has focused on consent that need to be taken before imparting ECT to
patients (Maylea and et.al., 2018). As per the act, managers have a responsibility to deliver
suitable environment to patients under age category of 18 years. Under this act, people with
mental illness can be detained after a proper assessment conducted either by psychiatrists or any
other mental health worker.
