Statement
I am a passionate and young professional currently working at Cohen Dental Centre in
Hatch End as a Dental assistant with two years of experience. Possessing a kind and a loving
nature, which I thin is essential for being dental assistant. I have also worked as a part of the
Dental team to achieve the best version of myself, where my duty was to prepare fillings
materials for dental cavities. I am also trained in providing support and reassurance to patients
along with tidying up the the surgery room. I have served as a part of a volunteer group where I
was employed in helping people in need, supplying food, clothing and shelter to vulnerable
children, elderly and windows. I was extremely grateful to contribute to society and develop my
social and interpersonal skills. My main motive is to pursue career as a dental assistant where I
will be able to grow and learn from my future colleagues. My strengths include paying attention
to detail and being flexible, because of which I can easily adapt to unexpected circumstances. I
possess a confident and outgoing personality along with good hand skills. I have the ability to act
quickly and calmly even under pressure. My organisational and teamwork skills make me praise
worthy, as told by my previous employer. My previous job as dental care nurse was the reason I
have good knowledge about dentist's dictation of records and maintaining cleanliness. The most
immediate sense of achievement I get is through improvement in the condition of my patient.
I consider myself to be a mature student and the ambition of my career is very clear. Is
suffered a stroke during my GCSE year, because of which I have a very acute sense of what it is
like to be a patient and the importance of contributing to success of therapy. I understand the job
of a hygienist very clearly, which is to prevent the onset of disease through advice, therapy and
treatment. My interests also include carrying out various procedures such as restoring teeth,
extraction of teeth, pulp therapy and crown fittings. I have clear understanding of concepts of
radiography, scaling and polishing, which are a good basis for my further study, ultimately
leading to a career as a qualified dental hygiene professional. I have always been interested in
dental hygiene and its structure as one of my favourite hobbies as a child was to build teeth out
of soap. This has taught me to concentrate and focus on giving the best quality of care. The
position of nurse has also taught me overseeing work of others and make improvements in

treatment and time management. My volunteer work and serving the homeless gives me a good
manual dexterity, which is a useful asset for a dental hygienist. I am thoroughly committed to my
chosen path as a dentist and I believe I have enough experience, maturity and determination to
become a successful dental hygienist.
