Part B of Journal Article [Sem 2, 2017] Type ID hereINJECTIONS]STAGE 2b: AUDIENCEThe part A of the assignment discuses about the issues of unwanted pregnancythat several women face is their life time, be it at schools, colleges, workplacesand more. There are several reasons behind this is the lack of health literacy.Lack of knowledge regarding the proper conception methods has substantiallyincreased the worldwide abortion rates (Moosazadeh et al., 2014). Complicationsmay come if a woman is unable to keep track of his birth control medications, asapplication of the birth control medications has to be consistent and timely. Thisarticle focuses on the use of Depo- Provera as a contraceptive. Depo -Provera is aProjesterone injection that has to be taken as contraceptive and what is essentialis to keep a track of it every month. The injection would be of no use if not takentimely. The primary audience of this study is 15- 44 years old woman who weretaking Depo-Provera injections (Moosazadeh et al., 2014). According to thestudy, the most effective method for keeping a track of the Depo-Proveraapplication is the development of a mobile app that will provide remainders tothe clients to take their further Depo-Provera shots (Ministry of Health. 2012).According to the doctors and nurses, in this world of technology it would beconvenient if a mobile app keeps reminding things other than the person toremember on her own. Remainder from the beginning would help the women tobook prior appointments with their doctors for the next shot. Apart from themobile application that would help the girls to keep a track of their Depo-ProveraPage 1 of 16PART B

Women should take initiative in arrangingappointments with their doctors and should gain knowledge regarding thedifferent methods of contraception. It has already been mentioned that theAsian women often get pregnant due to lack of proper knowledge; thereforeemphasis should be given on imparting education to the mass (Auckland’swomen health council, 2008). Women coming from low socio economicbackground or culturally backward classes should be imparted with knowledgeregarding the methods and the importance of using contraceptives. It should benoted that abortion is detrimental for the health of would be mother and canalso raise an ethical issue in terms of foeticide. It is the knowledge gaps thatshould be closed by proper health literacy (Ministry of health, 2015a). STAGE 4: HEALTH EDUCATION RESOURCE SCOPEIt had already been discussed about the health education resources that canprevent unwanted pregnancies and subsequent abortions. S- The purpose for planning the education resource is to impart education towomen regarding the usefulness of Depo-Provera as a contraceptive injection.The App would contain all informations regarding Depo-Provera and it wouldalso provide with remainders to the clients such that they can take their Depo-Provera shots.M- These goals will be useful as it will mitigate the risks of unwanted pregnancyand abortions.Page 2 of 16

Recent evidences have reaffirmed the safety of the long actingreversible form of the contraception for the women and the adolescents.STAGE 5: DRAFT AND TESTThe health education resources should be attractive and acceptable to all theclasses of people such that it can ultimately aim for the greater good (Black et al.,2012). The health education resource that has been chosen in this study is amobile application that is capable of keeping a track of the Depo-Proverainjection every month and it also imparts knowledge regarding the usage ofDepo-Provera and the other methods of contraception (Sridhar et al., 2015). Inorder to validate the efficiency of the mobile application, a test has been doneusing 15-44 girls of age as the primary audiences (Ministry of health, 2015a).Parents of young girls, registered nurses, health care professionals and nursewere considered as the second audiences to conduct the survey. After a set ofsurvey and interviews the feedback had been summarized. As per the clients itwas an extremely useful app for those who generally forgets the dates of theirinjection. According to the RNs and the doctors, the Depo calendar should bePage 3 of 16
