1.1. Question-1:
Outline the workplace’s information technology contracting procedure that are in place.
Answer:
The workplace has been enabled with the following information technology
components that have been described with the help of the following components,
i) Storage- 1TB of hard disk space.
ii) Processor- Intel i5 generation processor.
iii) Software- installed with the software such as office, adobe software as well as
other included application that are required on a daily basis.
iv) Network- all the workstations have been connected to a local area network (LAN)
connected to a star topology with the help of which all the workstations will have
the provision to connect to each other for communication of information.
v) Database- the workplace has a common database that has the inclusion of all the
data that might be needed by any of the workstations at any time of work.
vi) Websites- the workplace has an access to all the existing websites that will help
the individuals to access for the required amount of information.
1.2. Question-2:
What are the responsibilities of the IT contractor for the workplace?
Answer:
The primary responsibility of the IT contractor in regards to the entire workplace is to
carry out the following responsibilities,

i) To keep a check and constant monitoring upon the existing systems as well as the
installed software applications to have a greater efficiency within the work (Gill
and Chew 2019).
ii) To be always present to solve all the queries related to work from individual
employees of the workplace.
iii) To keep installing constant updates on the systems of the workplace.
1.3. Question-3:
Outline the information security procedures in place at the workplace.
Answer:
The physically active security procedures that are in place for the safeguarding of the
organization is to have an installed biometric system at the entrance of the workplace that
will necessarily prevent the entry of individuals in the form of unauthorized access into the
venue.
On the other hand, the electronically existing security procedures include the
installation of firewalls at the entry point of the network for a proper monitoring over the
network of the company (Peltier 2016). In addition to this, all the workstations need to be
included with a specific antivirus application to keep tracking the entry of any viruses or
malware into the systems that might hamper the proper working of any activity on the
workstations.

Outline any system configurations that are required to install the identified software
applications.

For installing the software that has been selected for this work, the following system
configuration are required to be in place on a minimum level to install the mentioned
software,
i) RAM- 2 GB of minimum requirements.
ii) Processor- Intel Pentium V 2.4 GHz.
iii) Hard Disk Drive- 1 TB of HDD space.
iv) Operating System- Windows 10.
1.5. Question-5:
What are the main functions of the software application?
Answer:
The software applications that have been chosen for installation along with their
functionalities have been described below (Bremler-Barr, Harchol and Hay 2016). These are,
i) Microsoft word- that has the primary function of allowing the individuals users
with the ability to carry out documentation related various procedures that need to
be represented in document format.
ii) Skype- this is a software that provisions the user with the ability to carry out video
conferences and have a face-to-face interaction with people separated by distance
of miles.
iii) Team viewer- this is a software application that allows an individual user to give
access to another user for accessing the system of the first user in regards to
solving some of the issues that come as a barrier when working on an individual
software.
iv) WinRAR- this is a software application, which has a presence within the system
of the users allowing them with a provision to compress big sized files and to

place them inside a single package to be accessed in some other working system.
The same files shall be extracted out of the compressed file in the same format to
be again accessed in the latter system.

Outlines the technical specifications of the software.
Answer:
The technical specifications of the software that shall be installed have been described
below with the following points (Larsen and Leuschel 2018). For each of the software a
series of technical specifications have been stated in regards to the workplace.
Microsoft word
The following technical specifications are present,
i) Presence of a particular gallery documents.
ii) Making of a quick learning procedure.
iii) Presence of an advanced pane for the purpose of editing.
iv) Effective presence of an online searching option with Bing.
v) Starting off at the place where the document was last closed.
Skype
The following the technical minimum requirements for Skype in a system,
i) 1Ghz of minimum processor configuration.
ii) 256 Mb of minimum RAM memory.
iii) Additional requirement of DirectX v9.0.

The following technical specification are associated with this software,
i) 1Ghz of minimum processor configuration.

The specifications that are associated with this software have been mentioned below
with the help of the following points,
i) This particular software provisions support to lot of formats for the purpose of
compression such as RAR, CAB, ZIP and others.
ii) On a minimum system requirements such as 256 MB, this particular software has
the capability of carrying out its functionalities.

Discuss what configurations are required to adapt/optimise the software to the
networked system.
Answer:
The minimum software configuration that is required by the software to be networked
to the system are,
i) Processor- Intel i3 generation 2.7 GHz.
ii) Random Access Memory- 2 GB.
