Abstract The research report is prepared on the depression. The chief motive behind this study is tounderstand the influence of depression on personality development of individuals. With the helpof this study, one can understand the influence of depression on the personality of individualsand also can understand the Erikson theory role in resolving depression and building thepersonality of individuals. Depression influences more than $ 45 billion people in medical carecosts. This research works as a guide for the other researchers who wants to conduct research inthe similar area. In this research report, the research has been utilized various research paperswhich have been formulated by different authors, for the motive of understanding the researchwhich has been done prior in this area. This research helps in measuring the different legal,ethical considerations regarding the personality development and also helps in suggesting theoverall influence of depression on personality development of individuals. In this research firstlywe have discussed introduction about the personality development and depression then weconducted a further analysis which is represented with the help of research findings. At last, wehave a conclusion which concludes the overall findings and suggestions of the research report.

Introduction Depression is considered the largest problems in youngsters, men, and women. It is the firstreason of disability in men and women worldwide. More than 40% Men, and 50% Women oftenexperience depression which becomes the one of the main reason for rising various healthproblems. Depression also influences the personality development of individuals. Lack ofdepression level may bring higher personality development, and high level of depression maybring low personality development. Despite various treatments, depression has an approximatedprevalence of 5.5 to 9.2 percent (Gilbert, 2014). Due to the depressions approximate 5 to 14percent of patients affected by their primary care settings. It can be said that depression becomesthe second largest reason of disability among people by 2021. Most of the time depression is nottreated in an adequate manner. Even when treated appropriately, more than 70 percent of patientswith depression have recurrent episodes and 20 to 40 percent have residual symptoms (Brown,2012). It is necessary for the psychiatrist to treated depression peoples in an efficient manner. Itcan be said that depression connected with poorer outcomes in patients with a different range ofmedical conditions like diabetes mellitus, artery disease, and stroke. On the other handpersonality of one person makes him different from the others. In this report, we will discuss theErikson's psychosocial development theory. The model presented by Erikson is a verysignificant, meaningful and highly regarded model. This theory helps us in measuring theinfluence of the depression on human beings. Patients with depression generally presentpsychological symptoms of depressed mood, impaired concentration, suicidal ideation, andfeelings of worthlessness. A study conducted in 2005 concluded that routine depression had littleeffect on the outcomes and management of depressions after five or twelve months of follow-up
