Introduction
The leaders and managers are the frontline workers of
organisation who directly deal with employees. The
productivity and motivation level of workforce is directly
correlated with the leader’s way of managing people. The
defined ethical and value based culture of organisation increase
the satisfaction of individual and sets an alignment between
their personal and organisational values.

Meaning of Ethical and Value-based approaches
A value-based and ethical based organisation is the structure and
system of organisation which is commonly shared by all
employees of organisation. The Ethical leadership is the way to
manage and direct by following the respect and setting the
common ethical belief and values ground to maintain and
respect others principle.

Importance of Value-based approach to
Leadership
The value based leadership is the approach that the leaders
follow while leading their followers to direct and motivate. The
belief behind following this approach is that people are
motivated by following the common values and beliefs. It is
commonly believed that by following the certain principle it
becomes easy to set the common vision and it makes the leaders
and followers to connect well which makes them more likely to
act in a certain acceptable way.

Importance of Ethical Leadership
The ethical leaders nurtures the positive environment with
stronger relationships being shared over three level-
individual, overall team working and organization as whole.
The impact of setting the ethical culture of organisation results

Increased collaboration and integrity among team members

The 4V Model of ethical leadership
This model helps to align the internal values and beliefs
with the external action of an individual which results in
achievement of goals with increased efficiency.

Leadership Style
The Leadership is an act of motivating and directing the
group of individuals to achieve the common goals. It
means managing the followers with the strategy to meet
the organisation needs. The Leadership Style is a way and
method of leader's characteristic and behaviour while
directing, motivating, implementing plans, guiding the
followers.

 Autocratic Leadership
This leadership style is based on the leader's decision
without taking input from followers. It is the control and
command approach, based on the decisions and judgement
of the leaders without consulting from the team members.

 Democratic Style
The democratic leadership style is also known as
Participative leadership style. It is a leadership style in
which the members of the team takes an active role in
decision making. In this style the ideas are freely
exchanged and active discussions is encouraged. The idea
behind this style is to have free flow of exchange of ideas,
to initiate the members creativity and leaders are there to
support and provide the guidance to followers.

employees.

Skills and qualities of effective Leader
The every organisation faces the challenge of managing
the diverse workforce which affects their growth and
success. Therefore, effective leadership plays an critical
for setting the right direction and implementing the
strategies effectively to drive the employees performance
in alignment with the organisational goal.

The dynamics of managing the workforce amid Coronavirus pandemic changed
more steadily and need for the effective leader raised. Therefore, the skills and
abilities possessed by an effective leader are as follows;
 Integrity: The integrity is referred to being honest and possessing the
adherence to moral and ethical values. An, leader succeeds when they stick to
their values and words. They are being appreciative of efforts made by the
employees.
 Empathy: The empathy is the ability to understand the other's emotion well.
The leader who understands and connects with followers problem functions
more effectively.

Achieving the organisational goal
The HR is responsible for managing and attaining the right
people for right job. It is the leaders and managers role
further to keep them motivated and satisfied. The Human
Resource department is held responsible for making
policies and procedures and the successful implementation
is being seen by leaders.

Conclusion
From the above it can be concluded that the value based
leadership creates an ethical climate in organisation. The
culture so followed has direct impact on employee’s
performance level. Therefore, the leaders should set an
exemplary example of following the ethical behaviour
while managing and directing people.
