AbstractThe idea of NGN Network – Next Generation Networks is sign of revolution in the world of ITNetworks. NGN Networks are considered the future of the IT world due to its miracles and as amatter of fact, at present whole world is in the process of deploying it. Why? Well because itprovided end to end seamless connectivity without affecting the cost. In fact, it reduces the cost, increases the reliability as well as provides and dispels the dependency of application andprovides more freedom and independence. This report will provide information about end to end network design in Australia as well asavailability of all services to the end users. The report will cover the following;Introduction of NGN as well as it’s attractive featuresDesign of the sections holding utter importance1.Definition of Core Network and Discussion2.Metro Aggregation Introduction and Discussion3.Access Networks Definition and Brie DiscussionBasically, the core network plan is based on the possibility that fiber optic networks have beenimplemented across all the Australian states and issues such as dependency, redundancy, connection of multiple services and the underlying transport technology will also be covered.Aggregation design will provide information about how network will be provided to metropolitan areas of different states.Access layer will provide information about how single channel will provide different types of services to the customers[CITATION 1RW09 \l 7177 ].. The design part will consider multiple different technologies to provide services for different areas such as high and low-density areas, leased lines, and mobile customers and of course how this network provides possibility to be extended to the regional areas of Australia.IntroductionThere is no doubt that in today’s frantic world, the demand for IP traffic for different types ofservices such as data, mobile, video streaming (YouTube is a good example) has increasedrapidly. This demand has forced the ISP – Internet Service Providers to think of new methods toprovide fast internet speed to the users. Different ISP providers in the market have undoubtedlytrying to compete with each other in order to gain the market share. In the past, networks weredesigned to support not all applications, but specific applications. For example, customers hadto purchase the connections separately for different kinds of services such as, television, mobile, landline phone and data services. Also, a single service provider was not able toprovide all types of services. Applications have played a major role in promoting the demand ofadvanced network technologies. Application upgrades and new applications demand betterhardware as well as high network traffic usage which ultimately encouraged the network

providers to brood over high demand for bandwidth requirements. The new species of theapplications demand the following;High BandwidthBetter QoS – Quality of ServiceHigh end networksReliability and flexibility of business applicationsMobilityThe idea of NGN – Next Generation Network blankets all the services which have beenmentioned above and also provides scalability, flexibility and reliability. NGN solution will impactgreatly on the reduction of cost of operations and that is because all the services will bemanaged through centralized management.Evolution and the Legacy NetworksLegacy networks were divided into three different types of networks, such as data, voice andmobile and each required maintenance and infrastructure. The advancements in technologiesand gadgets such as smart phones, NBN, ADSL, VoIP have enabled to run all specifiedtechnologies through single mean of channel. In today’s world, almost every user uses latest ITgadgets such as smart phones, smart TVs etc. and this had encouraged the ISPs to providenetwork services through single network seamlessly at all time without any interruptions. But toprovide the above-mentioned services through single channel with legacy network architectureseems almost an uphill task and it would not be cost efficient. However, this new trend demands to wrap all services in one single service by redesigning thenetwork architecture to enable the non-stop coverage of the latest technologies to customers. This evolution in the field of networks is pronounced as “The Next Generation Network akaNGN”.Technology drivers for NGN ArchitectureThe encouraging factors that have enabled the possibility to implement NGN network arefollowing;Growing businesses demand 24/7 coveragePliabilityMarginsSurvivalQuality of Service aka QoSNetworks CompatibilityAbove mentioned points will not only keep the current services ongoing to the customers whostill require services but will also incorporate new services into the one that are running in realtime environment. Service Level Agreements aka SLAs as well as end to end services across
