An Operational Plan
Brief Summary on BBQfun Operational Environment
The operational environment in context to the organization is considered as the total of
internal and external factors that influence the working of the business. The BBQfun has
adopted many procedures and policies for better outputs and also these adopted
policies are helping in assisting and governing performance management of the
organization (Trefalt, 2013). All the supplementary costs with chief cost associated with
contingency planning have been approved with the help of the policies and the
procedures as well as with the legislative and regulatory acts which the BBQfun follows
for the welfare and good health of the employees (Salzer, et. al., 2013).
Legislative and Regulatory
For example the Safety and Health Regulation Act, which is an external factor but it
directly and indirectly influences the internal factor. Privacy Act 1988, Anti-
Discrimination Act 1991 (QId), Fair work Act (2009), etc., are applied and followed.
Among the various other policies, BBQfun will be implementing the e-commerce
strategy policy soon for maintaining and increasing its market share.
Policies and Procedures
This policy directly relates to the operational plan and the role played by an operational
plan in achieving the successful implementation of the e-commerce strategy is very
strong and it is the operational plan that helps in satisfying customer needs (Njoroge &
Yazdanifard, 2014).

Role of an operational plan in achieving the successful implementation of the Ee-
commerce strategy.
The operational plan of BBQfun is considered a vital element for the successful
implemention of the strategies with the new policies that are developed for
implementing the e-commerce strategy. As an external consultant, I advice to amend
this operational plan that currently BBQfun is following (Brindley, 2017). The new goal
will be set , outlining actions will be provided, and the identification of the risks and
monitoring performance will be done. The budgeting process for the amended
operational plan will be kept same as the major changes are not done in the
amendment.

Research resource requirements for implementation of e-commerce
strategy
The resources required for implementation of the E-Commerce Strategy includes the
following:-
Computers and Internet connection.
Payment receiving system.
Recruitment of technically qualified staff.
Well considered websites.
Good telecommunication system.
The team leaders and management team of BBQfun.
Search engine advertisements.
Logistic support.

Role-Play 1:- Sales and Marketing Manager
a) Hello, please take a seat and be comfortable.
Good morning, thank you.
b) We have a doubt about the future of current employees at BBQfun due to the
current job terminations?
Yes, there were few recent job terminations but it has to do nothing with the future of the
employees in our organization. The implementation of the e-commerce in our company
is for the betterment of the employees and the company itself. The job terminations
were not because of the new policies but it was due to other factors and resistance. We
have already planned on providing training to our employees to make them aware about
the e-commerce technology usage and use.
c) What marketing strategies and methods are you going to apply for advertising
e-commerce?
We have worked upon many marketing strategies that we will use for advertising the e-
commerce implementation in our company. Some of these strategies include flyers and
posters in our shops, marketing via radios, TVs and brainstorming and promotional
marketing. Discount vouchers will be provided with the first e-purchase and a specific
focus on marketing on newspapers and magazines that are easily available to the
customers.
d) Do you think the implementation of e-commerce in the BBQfun will work?
Of course, it will, and certainly the customers are quite happy after hearing the new
policies regarding the implementation of the e-commerce in our company.
e) What about human resourcing requirements after the implementation of the e-
commerce in your company?

We will firstly provide and arrange the trainings and sessions for our employees and
then if required recruitment will be done for specific posts which should be filled with
only the technical qualification individuals. The website developers and designers will
be contracted for specific period of time.

b). What are the important points that should be followed for the implementation
of the e-commerce in BBQfun?
In no doubt we will do a written agreement of ownership and confidentiality which will be
signed by the web developer. All other mandatory forms and agreements associated
with the company’s policies will be signed by the web developer and the pictures of the
products will be take which will be used in the website. Also specific information for all
the products that are available at stock will be added on the website, and will be
provided with their pictures and details
c). Will it be easy for the customers to navigate?
Yes, of course. We have been working on this and will make sure that our website will
be easy to use for all our customers. There will be a section for direct chat and constant
updates of webpage will be provided.
d). What strategies will be used for increasing sale on website?
We will make sure to design for each peak seasons like Christmastime, Summer
Season, etc.
