3.5 Referring adults to further sources of information
The adults can be referred to other sources of information, support or advice when their
needs and requirements have not been fulfilled. There are various bodies that provide support to
people with different types of troubles such as special disabilities, mental pressure etc. One of
the well-known examples of these bodies can be considered as Nongovernmental organisations
(NGO's) because these firms provide support to the ones dealing with major issues by giving
them food and other important sources to live a normal life (Fegran, Hall and Ludvigsen, 2014).
Adults can be parents, staff or any other member. For a case, where the parents want to
refer someone because their children suffers with specialised disabilities, in that case, these
adults can be referred to some specialists or to SENCO. SENCO refers to the Special education
needs coordinator. It plays a very important role and ensures the fact that every student or
children who are going through some sort of health issues as, disability or also, to the ones who
are actually in a need of some educational requirements etc. There are enormous numbers of
aspects associated with it. That is the reason, special education needs coordinator can be termed
as one of the effective options for referring adults to other different means of support and advice
(Zhao, Young and Goldberg, 2015).
Adults here can be referred as parents, staff members etc. Therefore, it somewhere
depends on the fact that what sort of hep is required by the adult person. On the basis of that
only, further decisions can be made. If a parent requires some advice and support regarding their
children's health then special education needs coordinator can act as the most suitable option
because they can provide the most suitable and appropriate rate of support because their focus is
on the fact of providing help to the children with special needs and extra educational help.(The
role of the special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), 2008).
Therefore, it promotes a healthy and balanced lifestyle so that the child should be able to
achieve all their dreams happily. Therefore, it somewhere depends on the requirements of the
situation because on the basis of that, further assessments can be made. These sources can provide
help to the adults who are dealing with different mental and health issues and the same can be
referred to them by means of counselling sessions or special classes arranged by the
nongovernmental organisations (Driskell, 2017). It is because by counselling sessions, the adults
can be told about these ways like special education needs coordinator or about consulting the
specialists. This can be termed as one of the effective ways to guide them how they can approach

these specialists and coordinator for help. In addition, there are different classes organised by the
NGOs, so in these sessions as well, the adults can be told about these ways so that they can
implement the same and thus, also can be able to have an efficient amount of support as well.
Therefore, different ways of support can be SENCO or specialists that can be guided to adults by
means of different counselling sessions or classes, adults can be referred to other sources of help
and information.
