INTRODUCTIONProfessional supervision is a positive and enabling process which provides an opportunityto bring an employee and a skilled supervision together to reflect on the work practice(Duddingand Procaccini, 2017). It is the process that will help the workers to review and analyse theirwork with the help of discussion, report and observation with other worker.In this report the purpose, principles and scope of professional supervision will beanalysed. The theories and model of professional supervision will also be discussed in thisreport.1.1 The principles, scope and purpose of professional supervisionIn order to deliver the positive outcomes for the service user's supervision supports theorganization. A strong and professional work force with a culture of growth and development isdeveloped which helps to monitor and review the performance of staff. The principles ofeffective supervision is that about why there is requirement for supervision the clear informationneed to be given(Kadushin and Harkness, 2014.). For the supervision sessions the time frameneed to be set and where possible and appropriate protect the time and space. The confidentialityalso need to be ensures and the personal essentials of the patient need to be shared only withthese people who really need to know. On a continual basis all staff are supervised with policystating the care staff will receive six supervision each year. The purpose of supervision is to givethe individual the freedom to speak freely.1.2 The theories and models of professional supervisionWith the use of model the delivery of a supervision, outlining the stage functions androles within the supervision will be guided. The three function interactive model is a model inwhich the supervisor and supervise are together responsible for completing the formativesupervision, normative supervision and restorative supervision.The two intervention approaches are there in the intervention analysis. The process ofusing prescriptive is being controlled by the autocratic intervention and facilitative interventionis being controlled by the supervisee(Mink and Carraccio, 2018). 1.3 The requirements of legislation for professional supervisionThe supervision is being influenced by the agreed ways of practice as with this thesupport to the staff will be given and also the code of practice will also be followed. The supportto the workers is given and also such relationship are developed with them in which thy havefreedom to talk about any issues.1.5 The role of professional supervision in protecting individualBy the fact that supervision is recognised so anyone who is engaged in it can't revert backon what they had said and it also protects the individual. It is the procedure by which the issuescan be discussed and solved in accordance with work practice.Supervisor – Within the supervision all the aspects will be covered by the supervisor and theycan be confident as they are supporting the staff to their best confidentialSupervisee- By ensuring confidentiality supervision can protect the supervisee in case the seriousissues are being raised(ROBERTS, 2017).2.1 The performance management cycleThe planning, monitoring, developing, rating and rewarding is being involved in theperformance management cycle. The expectation and goals can be set by planning the work inadvance and with the monitoring the work can be monitored continuously and with the help forrewarding the rewards can be given to the employees for good performance.2
