INTRODUCTIONLeadership style is generally the ways which the leaders use to direct and motivate peopleas well as implementing the plans and solutions to a problem. For the effective leadership, oneshould have the required traits which will eventually help the subordinates to work with greaterproductivity. This report addresses the different leadership styles adopted by the leader, skillsalong with the traits which are required in successful leader, self assessment on the type of leaderand its relation to contemporary approaches of leadership, strength as well as weakness of theleader. MAIN BODYPART ALeadership stylesLeadership style is basically the approach which focuses on providing the right direction,implementing the plans and thus motivating the people. I use participative leadership style whereI takes into account my subordinate as well as other people views and opinions while making thedecision and solving any problem. Participative leadership style helps me to assess theknowledge as well as the abilities of people to innovate and thus assist me applying the bestideas which will bring success in the organization like when I was working in an organization,the sale of newly launched product declined on a sudden thus I called on a meeting and askedeveryone to give their ideas and suggestions for boosting up the sales and revenue. Thus Irequested everyone to equally participate and offer their innovative ideas (Conger, 2015). Thisstyle eventually helped me gaining the confidence of my subordinates and motivating them on agreat level that ultimately increased their productivity. This has made me aware of the fact thatthe opinions from all around brings out the some innovation in the company and made me realizethat engaging the subordinates in each and every problem whether it is big or small generate asense of self valuation inside them which eventually decreases the organization turnover. TraitsHonestyNo matter how complex the situation is, I always tries to stick to my values and makes acommitment to be transparent to all the people. If I make any mistake regarding the work doneby me, then I take full responsibility of to resolve it. I remain committed to my ethics for thework and remain honest to my team as well.
CommitmentWhen I commit to do something, I make sure that it gets done or before time.Commitment towards the work motivates me for the achievement of my objectives and goals.Once I am given any responsibility or task, I display a great degree of dedication towards it andanalyse every perspective for completing it like during the college presentation given a shortdeadline, I dedicated all my time towards completing it successfully thus delivered it before timewhich helped me secure greater grades. Enthusiasm to learnI remain curious and enthusiastic to explore new opportunities and learn from mymistake. Learning the new things gives me a sense of happiness and increases my knowledgeapart from helping me to overcome my mistake. I have the willingness to learn even the minorthings which are outside my area of interest (Antonakis and Day, 2017). This enthusiasm helpsme to solve the problems by considering each and every alternative like when I was under a teamwhere the project given was outside my subject, then I made the commitment to myself that Ihave to learn every aspect of this project no matter what. This eventually helped me grab theknowledge of various dimensions of that subject. SkillsMotivationThe most important skill which I have & believe is significant is motivating my teammembers. I am able to influence the people with my great ideas which ultimately motivates themto complete their work with great productivity. I have the potential to motivate my teammembers by appreciating their work and providing them with the feedback in the areas ofimprovement. During the internship, I was once assigned as the mentor for my team. One of myteam member was unable to work efficiently thus I talked to that individual to know the issue forsuch low efficiency which eventually motivated that member to work with high efficiency. CommunicationI have the ability to communicate effectively with my subordinates as well as the topmanagement. I am able to establish a constant and steady flow of interaction between me and myteam member (Robertson, 2016).
