Studying and analysing the concepts, dimensions of business and
thriving in the strict, complex and often times cold corporate
environment are not easy tasks to undertake for both students and
workers and there are various challenges associated with both of
these tasks given below.
• Traditional concepts of business management study are
outdated
• Lack of teamwork skills
• Balancing academic and professional study with personal life

The importance of effective academic skills development
Being a skilled worker is sure shot recipe for success in the business world and academic skills play an important
role in shaping up competencies required to do well in any given job role as they are generic skills which help
people to refine and master the way in which they retain and study for the purpose of gaining knowledge and apply
that knowledge in real life situations (Espey, 2018). The importance of academic skills development are given
herein.

The importance of effective professional skills development
In order to have a consistent and steady career growth in any relevant job role in any industry, individuals looking to
succeed in a professional environment must have a proper collection of soft skills which helps them manage and
operate the workplace in a more efficient manner (Kropotov, Proskuryakov and Belov, 2018). There are many benefits
in developing an effective professional skill-set listed below.
