Aim
To identify ways in which formal professional identity of individuals can be developed
using behaviour and or values framework of either CIPD or CMI
Literature review
According to the view of Sharma and Sharma (2017), development of professional identity
is extremely important for professionals in order to progress further in their career it is extremely
important for employees or professionals to focus upon identifying ways in which they can bring
changes within their behaviour or values or developed required skills, behaviour for achievement
of access within their professional careers. There are many different ways in which formal
professional identities can be created with the help of values, motives, experience, training etc. It
completely depends upon type of formal professional identity which is required to be developed
such as of empoweree, educator, or of instructor. This type helps in identifying ways in which
formal professional identity can be developed. Formal professional identify development focuses
upon development of two types of skills that are interprofessional skills and intra-professional
skills, values, qualities and attributes.
As per the views of Chatterjee and et.al., (2020), there are many different kinds of
behaviour and or values frameworks that can be used for development of formal professional
identities. These frameworks or models can be used by any kind of professional person whether
they are educators, instructors or empowerees. But it is extremely important to identify type of
framework or model of behaviour or values which is required to be adopted for development of
formal professional identity. Two most commonly used behaviour and or values framework or
model that are used for defining or developing formal professional identity are: CPID/ CMI and
many more but these two are most commonly used frameworks for identification of formal
professional identity. In context of Sharma and Sharma (2017), has explained that, CPID stands
for Chartered Institute of Personnel Development framework is a kind of structure that helps in
defining competencies of each individual that are required by every individual for working
within a professional organization who is a part of that organization. In directly helps in
identifying and developing formal professional identity of individuals. It directly helps in
development of important individual competencies that are required to be developed for
development of formal professional identity. Not only this, it further helps a professional person

to identify ways in which they can perform their job roles and responsibilities in an appropriate
and effective manner. It is a kind of structured plan that helps in identifying skills and
competencies that are required to be developed or learnt, things that will be achieved after
developing those skills and competencies, support or resources required for development of
those skills and competencies, criteria identification for evaluation of success of skill and
competencies achievement, and lastly it further helps in identification of target date in which
identified skills and competencies will be developed.
However, Horton-Deutsch and Sherwood (2017), further elaborates that there are many
other kinds of skills and competencies that are required to be developed for identification and
development of formal professional identity. For this another one of the main framework is CMI
framework that set out the best practice related to management and leadership specially in
qualification, membership and apprenticeship. It is based on core competencies in 3 themes and
having sub section such as personal effectiveness, interpersonal excellence and organization
performance. So as per the framework individual must manage their work, take right decision
and effectively communicate the information to other. Individual current skills are improved
such as it learn the way or manner to communicate and share information with other. Take
decision that are beneficial for all is also element of personal effectiveness. From interpersonal
excellence the framework is used for providing clear direction related to the manner a particular
task is being completed. Contribute in developing capabilities and skills of individual so that
they can easily complete their respective task. Furthermore, it contributes in developing skills
related to building strong relationship that can be helpful in maintaining good relationship with
other working in firm. Organization performance is the third theme as per CMI frameworks in
which the element are leading change and innovation in the company. Through developing
professional capabilities to find out more creative and innovative idea that could be used by
organization to sustain its business in longer time frame. Managing risk and resources is also
key element of professional in which individual must have capabilities to manage the associated
risk and resources in effective manner for growth and expansion of business. Therefore, CMI
frameworks has contributed in formal professional identity.

Research Methods and Data Analysis
Research method that has been used for the current project is reflexive dialogic action
research in which the researchers have capabilities to detach from scientific disciplinary
paradigm and take different perspective. In this scientific researcher does not speak science and
attempt to teach scientific theory to real world practitioners. It has been selected because it
resulted in reducing the likeliness of happening biases or discrimination thereby effectively
representing the information (Farrell, 2019). For personal data analysis , Gibbs model has been
used as it is most appropriate reflection model in which there are around six stages such as
description of event, feeling, evaluation, analysis and conclusion and action plan. The model is
fruitful in gaining personal information as it has various stages that clearly define about the
experience, what have been learned and the way key skills can be improved for better outcome.
Furthermore, this model has been used because stages such as evaluation contribute in analysing
and evaluating key skills that were good and other skills that need to be improved for better
outcome. Therefore, overall the gibbs reflective model is the best suitable for completing the
research (Pries, 2019).
While for completing the research I have used various personal data sources through I
have collected the different types of sources. I have taken the data such as learning diagnostic
through which the questionnaire and learning styles that can be working. While I was also
thinking about that questionnaire and interview which help me for knowing about various
research terms and keep the working system to be proper learning styles (Nassauer and Legewie,
2021). Along with I have also self-awareness diagnostic personal data sources and make sure for
having those effective things which keep more working things. This could be one way affect
changes of different kinds to first understand and keeping them for working with many stages.
Apart from this, I have learned about many things and this could some of the measure
steps and keeping me for working with some social intelligence surveys. While such types of
data sources that allow me for knowing that research designing and make sure for having high
effective terms. The self aware about much more than conscious and suggested more about
thinking many more things and keeping me for knowing those effective things (Piacentino, Arbia
and Espa, 2021). Along with this could be seems that learned things that led with expanding self-
awareness. A critical review is being detailed about research preparation and keeping them for

method and this could be lead me for working with some more gathering information or
collection with various sources.

The actual incident was the performance of

the aspect of this incident I learned that how to

lead to make correction of the mistake along
