INTRODUCTION
The success of any organization is achieved with its potential and efficient employees. The
HR manager has to analyse the organizational need to train the employees using appropriate
tools and techniques. There are so many roles which HR plays for developing performance of
employees. High Town housing is a housing association which has been established in London,
United Kingdom. There is requirement of the continuous professional development plan as it
provides continuous level of competency in a particular profession. This makes an individual to
stay ahead in career through the improvement in skills. Report will highlight appropriate
knowledge skills, require by HR professional. It will also highlight skill audit and personal
development plan.

A. Appropriate knowledge, skills and attributes required to carry out for role of HR advisor.
Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness, or understanding of someone or something, such as
facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience or education by
perceiving, discovering, or learning. Knowledge can refer to a theoretical or practical
understanding of a subject.
Skills - A skill is the ability to carry out a task with determined results often within a given
amount of efficiency. A British definition is "the ability to communicate effectively with people
in friendly way, especially in business."
Knowledge required as HR advisor
Knowledge is base on doing work which is required by HR advisor. The HR advisor is
should know about all the roles that are needed to be performed in Hightown Housing
Association. There should be ethical knowledge regarding company. Hightown housing
association HR advisor should know the ethics and principle on which company runs to make
employees understand the ethical principle that is needed to be performed by them. Employees
should not engage in misbehaving or low level work . They should have knowledge related to
technical and management skills. (Eling and Schaper., 2017). HR should have expertise in his
work as to handle all the situation. HR in Hightown housing association should have the
knowledge regarding the payroll along with various range of employee benefits in the varsity of
industries. Employees of organization faces problem as lack of motivation or inappropriate
behaviour from their superiors. HR manager must have knowledge to handle situation so that
reduction in employee retention. Hence , the HR advisor should have proper knowledge in areas
of employment law. Contact law and other employer and organization benefit law.
Skills required by HR advisor:
The skill of the HR advisor helps in identifying level of competencies which will help in
development of the Hightown Housing Association. Skills required by the HR advisors are
communication skills along with business awareness and the management skills. Communication
skills is important skill to deal with every situation such as recruitment and selection,need
identification and solving the issues through communication. (Khan and Quaddus., 2015). HR
advisor who have skill of multi-tasking gets good growth in their career, as multi task performers

always have more knowledge than other person as they know many things other than their work
and having knowledge of different things make a person versatile. The list of skill that is more
needed by HR advisor is about IT, numeracy along with interpersonal skills in order to increase
the integrity and approachability of managers and staff to have proper discussion over sensitive
and confidential issues.
Attributes of HR advisor :
HR advisor have quality of fairness so that there is no employee baseness in Hightown
Housing Association. When HR don't work with fairness employee will feel demotivated.
Ability to display objective is also a quality which HR advisor must have because if HR will not
display objective to employees they will not understand their role and the direction in which they
have to go. Objective which HR should display must be a common objective so that organization
will able to achieve goal. This all skills, knowledge, and attributes help in development of
organization as well employees (Likoko and Kini., 2017)

Being for post of the HR advisor, I need to develop the certain level of these skills as to achieve
the certain goals and objective that is needed to be aimed by the company. This will make me
more aim to wards my work and the objective of the company in the longer run.
Difference between organization and individual learning.
Individual learning to consist learning related to self like when person learns that things
which helps him in developing his own ability and skills like Individual who is working in
Hightown Housing Association and if learn how to communicate, how to improve decision-
making then it will be called as individual learning. Organization learning on the other hand,
talks about what you learn to grow in organization like how to work with professionalism, how
to behave in an organization culture and this all things come under organization learning.(Aithal.,
2015) This both learning are linked to each other as they can only come if they have both
learning inside them
Training and development
For effective management, company is engaged in providing training and development to all
employees. This make workers more efficient and focused. Training and development is also
being provided so that employees can continuously learn in firm. It can also support firm in
growing and achieving their goals and objectives.
Need of continuous learning and professional development:

Continuous learning is essential for every individual otherwise no growth will be there.
When a person wants to learn something new every day then they never feel like there is nothing
to do, because when person stop learning he started feeling like there is nothing new which make
them feel motivated. Continuous learning is a way to motivation. For example, if an individual is
working in Hightown Housing Association and he is working from last 2 years and there is no
learning till now, he is only doing work that much which he is assigned and nothing more from
his side. This shows he is not interested in learning and this thing will make his life constant,
which make his growth zero..

 Rewards – For achieving a better performance of employees, rewards plays a vital role in
motivating them to work better . For example as HR advisor of High town Housing
Association you need to encourage the organisation to reward its employees for their
knowledge,skills and performance (Likoko and Kini, 2017).
 Delegation of authority -is one the best techniques to make employees feel motivated
because when the employees have power they do their work better as they are an
important part of company. Hightown Housing Association should delegate the autority
to their employees to make them more responsible (Armstrong, 2017).
 Training staff is an essential element of HPW because the main purpose is to improve the
employees capability,capacity,productivity and performance. Hightown Housing should
provide training to their employees to improve their performance ( Bolander and Snell,
2010).

 Feedback refers to the employees performance on a task.Hightown Housing provides
feedback to their employees so they can improve their performance (Bolander and Snell,
2010).

 Growth to organisation- HPW provides growth to the organisation because if the
employees perform better the Hightown Housing Association grows ( Likoko and Kini,
2017).
 Growth to individual-when the HPW is implemented helps the employees of HighTown
Housing to grow because all the elements of HPW are focusing on the employees
development (Landy and Conte, 2007).
 Good organisation climate is activated by the work power of employees at Hightown
Housing Association and is created by superiors and subordinates behavior in company .

If they have a good relation and superiors are providing promotions to employees
according to their work then it will make a good environment ( Bolander and Snell,
2010).
 Brings loyalty of employees- when the employees at Hightown Housing Association are
doing their work effectively and efficiently and they get promotions and rewards, they
will feel appreciated and become loyal to their organisation ( Noe, 2008).
 Competitive advantage-HighTown Housing achieves a high performance through HPW

 Performance management:process involves clarifyng expectations, setting
objectives,identifying goals,providing feedback and reviewing results in a big
organisation like Hightown Housing Association ( Armstrong, 2017).
 A high performance culture can be achieved by Hightown Housing Association through
performance management, collaborative working and effective comunication because all
this practices helps clarifying the values, reinforce positive behaviour,encourage open
communications,employee empowerment, collect feedback and focus on what matters in
an organisation (Barr, 2017).

 Collaborative working-when two or more organizations can work together is known as
collaborative working. It helps in covering informal alliances and networks, delivery of
joint projects or merger and lasts for as long as they signed for. It is beneficial for both
the organization because they will share all the resources like:land, premises,
technologies,innovations,knowledge, information, costs the profits and the
loose.Hightown Housing Association is using collaborative working to building new
houses for people with different disabilities ( Barr, 2017).
 Behavioural approach is one of the oldest performance techniques and can be done by
using Behavioural Anchored Rating Scale(BARS) or the Behavioural Observational
Scale(BOR).This approach provide accuracy and reliabilty but the volume of data the
managers have to remember is high and that is way it will not be very effective to support
high performance culture and gain commitment at Hightown Housing Association
(Bohlander and Snell 2010).
 Result approach is a simple concept where the Hightown Housing rates its employees

CONCLUSION
This report is all about development of organization and individual. Company has made use
of training and development so that the skills of employees are being improved. They have also
made use of High performance work practice so that workers can be motivated and finished their
work effectively and efficiently. Firm has also been involved in motivating employees to learn
on individual basis. This has supported firm in achieving their goals and objectives.
