1. Introduction
A library software system is a software that is used to maintain the processes
carried out in the library. The library software system helps to manage and maintain all
the records in a library. The works that are included in the library are calculating the
total number of books that are available, the number of issues books and returning
books, reviewing the books and calculating the late fine charge for the books. The
software system will in the library help the librarians to manage the database of the
library which is needed when adding a new book to the inventory and record the books
that are borrowed by the library members. The software system helps to reduce the
manual process of handling library operations and makes the work more easy and
error-free work.
The library software system mainly allows the employees to manage the
resources of the library and the operations of the library is done in a sequenced way to
save their time and make the work more efficient. A software system in a library is a
convenient software to manage all processes and handling all the payments in the
library. The software also enables the online library process where the users can view
the availability of books and can also get alerted regarding their fine after the due date
of submitting the book. The online system of library management is very convenient as
it can be handled from anywhere and makes the library open for 24 hours.
This report details the planning process of developing a library software system
that will be helpful for the librarians to carry out the operations. This report details the
project management plan for developing the library system, which includes project

charter detailing the project objectives, deliverables, benefits, assumptions, time frame
and budget for the project development. The project management plan of the project
also details the work breakdown structure of the project development and the risk
management plan that is needed to implement in the project. This project also includes
SRS (Software Requirement Specifications) for the software system that is built.

 To develop a library software system to manage the operations of the
library.

system including its functional and non-functional requirements.
Deliverables: The deliverables of the project are:
 To create a project plan to develop the library management system
 To prepare a risk management plan to mitigate the risks while developing
the project.

Expected Benefit: The benefits that are this project will provide after being
completed are:
 The library software system will be user friendly to use and is easily
integrated into the existing system of the library.
 The library will be accessible 24 hours using the software system, and
users can use the system online from their mobile devices.
 The system that will be developed will be highly secured, scalable and
reliable.
 The system will be able to generate dynamic reports with error-free
operations.
 The system that will be developed for the library will also be cost-effective,
and the system will be fully customizable as per the need of the library so
that it can provide fast as well as reliable data.
Assumptions/Constraints: The assumptions that are considered while
developing the library software system project are:

 It is assumed that there will be the availability of end-users to test the
system that is developed.
 It is assumed that all the servers needed to install the project will be
available at the right time in the project.
 It is also assumed that the project budget will remain the same as it is
initially budgeted.
 The funding for the project is assumed to be given by different
departments as needed.
 It is also assumed that the scope of the project will not change while
working on the project.
 The project is assumed to follow the agile scrum methodology and will
follow all the guidelines and the requirements of the government.
