INTRODUCTION
Reflection is one of the most common but important practice in the academic session
where learner try to reflect their experience and capture important area. Reflective practice allow
learner to explore different area of development and help student to become stable in the
education process. It is very clear that reflecting experience not only allow learner to become
effective but this help them to cover those weak area where improvement is needed the most (Al
Khajeh, 2018). This report will discuss reflection on professional experience, include importance
of reflection in academic session. Later this report will discuss leadership theory using reflection
and applying these theories to work with people and achieve common goal. Later
transformational leadership theory will be discussed. At last this report will discuss peer review
assessment questionnaire and personal development plan including personal analysis.
MAIN BODY
Reflecting leadership theory to own professional experience:
Leadership is one of the most important term for every learner, this simply means
becoming effective in the workplace using leadership style to manage other people in the firm.
Leadership help individual to lead team and drive success in the organization, it is very clear that
without leader, team can not achieve stability as there will be no one providing clear direction to
the team to achieve intended goals (Daniëls, Hondeghem and Dochy, 2019). I carry experience
of working as leader in the workplace, I know the importance of using leadership style to
manage other people and mainly to work in a team to achieve intended goals. Using
transformational leadership style, I was managed workplace by including other people in
decision-making process, I believe, a great leader not only listen to their follower rather they try
to include followers in important area like decision-making where employee share their thoughts
and viewpoint allowing them to become effective in the workplace.
Transformational leadership theory: This is one of the most common but important term in
the business where leaders try to become transformational, this simply means they will try to
include followers in decision-making process. It is very clear that transformational leadership
allow firm to gain internal stability, I was focusing on this leadership style to manage followers
and their involvement in the management process (Bass and Riggio, 2016). I believe using
characteristic of transformational leadership, it was easy to work in team and manage viewpoint
of team member, these characteristic are:

Collaboration: This is one of the most common but important characteristic of
transformational leader which allow leaders to collaborate with followers and perform
certain task. It is very clear that this leadership style want leaders to create good relations
with people, leaders have to listen to their followers and act accordingly (Buil, Martínez
and Matute, 2019). I believe, this leadership style is best because it helped me to manage
team effectively, I try to listen and understand viewpoint of team and complete my task.
At first, working in team was challenging for me, collaboration was challenge because I
carry no experience of working and leading an team but after understanding
transformational leadership style, I become confident in team building and leading.
Communicative: Every leader is communicative who have power to convince people and
drive them towards success, it is very clear that transformational leaders try to
communicate with followers and include their thoughts in decision-making process
(Gandolfi and Stone, 2018). I try to communicate with team and resolve any issue that
impact their performance, I believe communication does matter when it comes to
managing people. I used to effectively communicate with team in the workplace.
However, transformational leaders not only communicate their thoughts, they try to
communicate their vision as well.
Reflection is about reflecting back on the experiences and to learn from the mistakes, it
helps in improving one self, for an instance if one has made mistake in their past then in the
future they can refer their experience (Laranjeira, Afonso and Querido, 2021). It helps in not
making mistake again and often helps in delivering the better outcomes. I am very dedicated
towards my work, I have always developed a curiosity in me to do something new and to explore
the things which helps me to grow further. I have always been attentive to the class always ready
to do any kind of assignments and project work that helps me to groom my knowledge.
Gibbs reflection
It is developed by the Graham Gibbs, according to the Wilson and Miller, (2018) this
model is made with the purpose of providing the structure that is about to learn from the
experiences. Gibbs model of reflection popular cyclic models which comprises of the elements
that are description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. All its factors help
in describing the experience which one have gone through.

Description: It is the initial stage of the model which involves discussion about the experience.
For the academic reason professor told us to do internship as it is important for my CV in order
to get hired from the recognised firm (Miner and Nicodemus, 2021). During this I was appointed
by the local firm to work there and to get the experience, where me and other team members
were assigned to daily tasks which we need to complete by the end of the day. I have got the
opportunity to lead the team, for the easy going of task I have decided to divide the work in a
modules and to let the team to select the work according to their knowledge and strength. It helps
in saving the time or also it assists in delivering the work before deadline. Before proceeding
with I was nervous as I have an introvert nature, because of this I was not able to converse with
other, but after approaching with such task I have developed the sense of responsibility in me to
lead the team. Me and my team have allotted with the task according to our specialism and
knowledge, overall working within a team is quite challenging as well as it is interesting as it
helps me in enhancing my knowledge. Stakeholder engagement is important for every task to
reach to its better conclusion, as for me my task also involves to communicate with the other
stakeholder. My tasks were to converse with the customers during my internship and to make
them to avail the services. Therefore, I also take feedbacks from their side as it assists me to
improve myself and to enhance my communication skill. Leading team and working
professionally is the important aspects as without this it would be difficult for me to deliver
better outcome of the projects. Before initiating with the project I was worried to lead the time
but after commencing on it I have developed the leadership skill that helps me to lead the team in
efficient way. Working professionally where the one perform their reliability and sets their own
standards and concerns for the job. Within this internship I was loyal to my job role that helped
me a lot to make the better and professional decision throughout the completion of the task.
Feeling: During my professional task I was feeling very nervous but the support which I have
gain through my team members helped me a lot. Because of this I will be able to complete the
project. During the task one of the member have made mistake as he did not proceed with
researching for the resources that is required for his task module, because of this it created the
tension and stressed filled environment for me and other team members. But I have decided to
remain calm in the situation and to search about the alternative which can fixed the problem, so
that we’ll be able to save the time that has wasted by the mistake. But after all team work we
were able to fix the problem, our dedication and harmony in team work has lead us to complete

the project with greater efficiency, as our task role is also about to communicate with the
customers and to provide them better services so that they retain to business. Now after
completion of the project I am feeling energetic and more confident that to lay out such task in
future also. Other Throughout the task I was thinking to make my team to communicate with
each other as it is the ability of leader to let team to interact and communicate with each other in
order to achieve the common goals. No I am thinking that I will be able to do such tasks again
because of this I have gained the confidence to complete such type of projects in future as well.
Digital advancement is the new modern trend where the every operational and other tasks is
being done with the help of digital technologies. for the stakeholder engagement there are some
technological system is available that gives the centralised platform for sharing the information,
collaboration with the other stakeholders as well. For the task eventually I was feeling under
confident to use the technologies but after using the system that is able to engage all team
members, with the use of this we were able to share the information regarding the project, we
also communicated. It was easier to communicate and interact with the team by using such
system as it was cost and time efficient, further helped in developing the technical knowledge.
Evaluation: At this stage of model it is about evaluating the things as what went good and what
did not work in that situation (Pieper and et.al 2021). About the good things of the task is that me
and my team were able to deliver the task before deadline, as during my internship it was
mandatory to report to the manager as throughout the day what we have done and what we have
not. Therefore, related to the good things is that I was able to report them work on behalf of my
whole team and they appreciated our work because we were able to complete the project on time.
The thing which went wrong is that during the work we have not proceeded with specifying the
task role for each, in result two of the member have done the same work, as it was the mistake
which we have made at the initial stage, therefore it was easy for us to overcome the mistake. By
learning the lesson from it I have decided to split the work in a different module and to assign it
to every member so each will focus on their individual task. Every member has shown their
contributed within the project as each member has done the research and arranged the resources
for completing the work. For me it was not the first time to work out comply with the ethics and
standards, during academic tutors always advised us to do work that abides all rules and
regulation so that it helps in delivering the ethical and better work. for an instance it was against
the law to plagiarised other’s work so I always make sure to done research and all my work by

my own. During the task my role was to lead the team and make sure all work done in regulatory
environment and with the compliance of the standards, it helps us to calculate the risk and it
helps us in achieving the sustainable objectives.
Analysis: It is the stage where individual got the chance to make sense in the things as what
happened (El Miedany, 2019). During the experience which I have gain through the professional
group project, I didn’t expect that we will be able to complete the work before time, as me and
my team member were not have such knowledge regarding work and have never come across to
such type of project. Because of this I have discovered the skills and strength that helped me a lot
throughout the completion of the project, I have completely enjoyed the work as it matches with
my strength and knowledge. Because we have never planned to commence with the project
initially caused a lots of problem for us, but later we have fixed this problem by communicating
with each other and have divided the work in a different module to complete it with the aim to
give the better outcome. I have initiated with searching about my individual task where I have
looked into the academic literature that is based on leadership and group work that helps me to
understand the whole situation. As I have learned that According to the Belbin group theory
Aguilar and et.al (2018) which states that everyone in the team have the equal opportunity to
play specific role and excel in their role to deliver the best outcome out of it. as this theory
suggests that every member in the team have bring their strength and knowledge to give meaning
to work. thus me and my team has actually done the same we have taken the task which relates to
our strength and knowledge so that we will complete the work in limited time span and in
efficient manner. Traditional approach of the leadership, where the leaders plays their
responsibility to guide the people and motivates them to carry out their work that helps in
accomplishing the overall task. For me it was one of the major responsibility as to understand the
behaviour of team mates and to provide them motivation whenever they lack in task vision.
Where iterative methods of the leadership, in this it involves the regular and time boxed
conversation that is usually found between the leader and team members to develops the shared
understanding. Throughout the task I have also tried to efficiently manage the teammates and I
also ensures to give the common mechanism for inspecting and accepting the growth of the
talented individual.
Conclusion: This section is about concluding overall experience and to discuss the things like
what we have learn from the situation and how it can be more positive when everyone gets

developed the leadership, communication skill. It was totally a better experience for me as before

situation, for the business it is important for the employer to have this skill to find the better
solution within the complex and critical situation. As for me during working on this task I have
found that I have developed the critical problem solving skills which is important for me to lead
the team in my future professional job role.
Action plan: From the overall experience I have gain, I will proceed further to use it for my
professional growth. As I am planning to enhance my communication skills so that it will be
efficient for me to deal with the clients and stakeholders within my job profession. For
developing and improvising this skill I will proceed to part in group discussions, team meetings,
debates and refer to books and novels that will help in improving this skill. I will also ask for the
feedbacks from others, with this I will proceed to work better. For decision making skill I will
proceed to play logic and mind games and to converse with others, additionally I will write down
all alternatives in order to make better decision. Just like for problem solving skill I will focus on
conducting in depth research over the topic in order to find solution for problems.

SWOT analysis is the strategic tools that helps in understanding the internal aspects. It
concerned with factors as strength, weakness, opportunity and threats.
Strength: For achieving the goals and
objective it is essential to have the enough
knowledge and skills, as for me my strength is
communication skill as I am able to
communicate with others (Quinlan, 2020). I
have good reasoning knowledge that supports
my problem solving skills.
Weakness: I am lacking in time management
and decision making skills, generally I have
faced many problems due to absence of this
