INTRODUCTION
In this competitive era, most of the companies are using effective skills and manage the
same in order to stay ahead in the competition. Similarly, the present study also shed a light upon
different skills and key aspect that need to be managed in order to improve the brand image. The
chosen firm for this report is Sainsbury which is one of the top UK retail firm that provide range
of effective food, clothing, furniture products to their customers at reasonable rate. The report
will reflect upon own management and leadership skills by applying range of models. Further, by
using Swot analysis, study reflect upon key strength and weakness and then perform Personal
development plan (PDP). Moreover, report will evaluate different terms that are needed for the
company’s welfare which include communication, motivation, empowerment, conflict
management and team effectiveness.
TASK 1
Presenting own leadership and management skills
Management is comprises of different controlling groups that helps to meet the goal.
whereas leadership is all about how an individual influence, motivate and enable others in order
to contribute their best for the organization’s success (Pellegrini and et.al., 2020). Therefore,
with the help of Rolfe model of reflection I can describe the situation which in turn assist to
describe my experience pertaining to such skill (Rolfe and Freshwater, 2020).
The whole reflection is based upon working in a company which will assist me to
improve the knowledge and improve skills which in turn considered an important for working in
a specific company. As these skills are considered an important for me in order to meet the
defined aim and improve the results for the further level of success. During whole situation, I
enhance my learning and skills that further assist me to identify the weakness and strength so that
I can make plan accordingly. In this stage, I examine that I can present the findings in the written
format but not able to communicate my views orally and this in turn affect my career and causes
negative impact over the results. However, while working in a team I also analysed that I am
lacking in interaction with the people and that is why, my team working abilities affected. This in
turn affect the results and that is why, such issue affected the entire performance.

By analyzing the skills while working through team, I identify that I am not able to
interact with others due to lack of oral communication and that is why, it create a negative issue
over the performance. Like, when a company have to attain the defined aim within a short
period, then I am not able to work with a firm due to my weakness. That is why, there is a need
to improve the same by implementing effective action plan in order to meet the same aim.
Moreover, i am not able to organize the work due to lack of such skills and this causes adverse
impact over the performance. This can be realized when I was work in a company and one day I
become frustrated due to stress and pressure. At that time, I realise that I am lacking this skill and
to attain the same, there is a need to apply classical theory and this in turn help me to create a
better outcome.
Through this experience, I realise that there are some key focus areas that need to be
developed and that is why, skill development plan need to be implemented that helps to improve
the selected skills. Also, it can be stated that there is a need to improve the same that contribute
to raise learning and generate a better outcome.

In order to lead the market, the company required to focuses on some skills and practices that
company should work on. The practices will give assistance in managing the function of the
organization in effective as well as efficient manner sum of the practices and relevant theories

Supportive Communication: it refers to the support which is delivered to the people in order to
bring the effective communication among the people. In the multinational organization like
Sainsbury, it is important to utilized the supportive communication in effective as well as
efficient manner. With the assistance of supportive communication, the workers of the
origination can interact the manager about their problems because of that the manger is able to
provide solution in appropriate manner. Due to the supportive communication the organization
can maintain the relationship with the workers of the company. Further that help in improving
the productivity and profitability of the company in domestic as well as international

2019). In order to bring the effective communication, the organization can use this the Shannon

and receiver. With the assistance of that the people can deliver proper and adequate information

Empowerment: empowerment refers to the process of allotting the power to someone else in

of the empowerment the organization can increase the scale of the growth and productivity of the
company. Due to the empowerment of the employees the manger can push the people toward the
the goal and the objective of the organization. Basically, empowerment is the practice of sharing
the values and information, rewards, and power to the employees of the organization. The
rewarding is something that decreases the stress of the employees and bring the positivity within
the culture of the establishment ( Kobushko and et.al 2020). The Sainsbury could treat the
employees of the organization as the assets of the company that do not allow the workers to
considered as the debt for the organization. Moreover, due to empowerment the employees of
Sainsbury can enhance the skills and knowledge of individual person that also bring the creative
ideas and wellness of the organization. The people of the organization contribute in the workflow
in the company in order to obtain the reward. In order to empower the employees of the
Sainsbury the organization can utilized Kanter’s theory of the empowerment which suggest that
in context to maintain the working environment of the company it is important to share the
resources, information and provide support to the worker of the company. Due to that the
employees of the organization can bring the learning and developing skills in the organization.
Motivation: for increasing the sales of the company and expending the network of the company
it is essential to motivate the employees of the origination. Motivation is the best plan of action

motivation can deliver the energy to perform the task better than before. With the assistance of
the motivation the employees acquire the feeling of helping hand for the origination. Through the
motivation the individual person can enhance their productivity and engagement at workplace

process should be discussed with the teams members in order to involve them in the process of
decision making that also bring the creativity and coordination. Lastly according to the model,

name of conflict management is to enhance the learning in group outcomes which also include
effectiveness or performance in organisational setting. The poor communication and
interpersonal relation can cause simple disagreement and ultimately diminish the productivity of
science fairy and demand and damage staff morale. Chosen companies can use some of the
conflict management skill Such as communication the verbal and return communication help to
avoid conflict between junior or senior level of employees because it help to build formal
