INTRODUCTION
In this competitive era, most of the companies are using effective skills and manage the
same in order to stay ahead in the competition. Similarly, the present study also shed a light upon
different skills and key aspect that need to be managed in order to improve the brand image. The
chosen firm for this report is Sainsbury which is one of the top UK retail firm that provide range
of effective food, clothing, furniture products to their customers at reasonable rate. The report
will reflect upon own management and leadership skills by applying range of models. Further, by
using Swot analysis, study reflect upon key strength and weakness and then perform Personal
development plan (PDP). Moreover, report will evaluate different terms that are needed for the
company’s welfare which include communication, motivation, empowerment, conflict
management and team effectiveness.
TASK 1
Presenting own leadership and management skills
Management is comprises of different controlling groups that helps to meet the goal.
whereas leadership is all about how an individual influence, motivate and enable others in order
to contribute their best for the organization’s success (Pellegrini and et.al., 2020). Therefore,
with the help of Rolfe model of reflection I can describe the situation which in turn assist to
describe my experience pertaining to such skill (Rolfe and Freshwater, 2020).
The whole reflection is based upon working in a company which will assist me to
improve the knowledge and improve skills which in turn considered an important for working in
a specific company. As these skills are considered an important for me in order to meet the
defined aim and improve the results for the further level of success. During whole situation, I
enhance my learning and skills that further assist me to identify the weakness and strength so that
I can make plan accordingly. In this stage, I examine that I can present the findings in the written
format but not able to communicate my views orally and this in turn affect my career and causes
negative impact over the results. However, while working in a team I also analysed that I am
lacking in interaction with the people and that is why, my team working abilities affected. This in
turn affect the results and that is why, such issue affected the entire performance.

By analyzing the skills while working through team, I identify that I am not able to
interact with others due to lack of oral communication and that is why, it create a negative issue
over the performance. Like, when a company have to attain the defined aim within a short
period, then I am not able to work with a firm due to my weakness. That is why, there is a need
to improve the same by implementing effective action plan in order to meet the same aim.
Moreover, i am not able to organize the work due to lack of such skills and this causes adverse
impact over the performance. This can be realized when I was work in a company and one day I
become frustrated due to stress and pressure. At that time, I realise that I am lacking this skill and
to attain the same, there is a need to apply classical theory and this in turn help me to create a
better outcome.
Through this experience, I realise that there are some key focus areas that need to be
developed and that is why, skill development plan need to be implemented that helps to improve
the selected skills. Also, it can be stated that there is a need to improve the same that contribute
to raise learning and generate a better outcome.
