Developing Professional Skills: Evaluation of Challenges Faced and Skills Developed

This report evaluates the challenges faced and skills developed by an individual in developing professional skills. It covers three challenges - apprentice challenge, presentation challenge, and t-shirt challenge. The report provides insights on communication, time management, teamwork, and business skills. It also explains how SMART analysis can help in developing communication skills. The report concludes that developing professional skills is essential for individuals to grab opportunities in their professional life.

INTRODUCTION
The development of professional skills by an individual played the major role in his life.
The enhancement and development of professional skills not only assist them for achieving the
valuable position in his life but also assist them to gain a decent job profile. In aspect of
professional analysis of knowledge and skills is start required which support an individual for
developing a vision to gain all the fixed goals in efficient way. If individual need to assist the
professional life, then it is essential to them for developing a skill which is professional with
proper discussion and systematic plan. The report will cover the evaluation of each challenge
from the point of view of business and along with it also explains reflection on the skills which is
developed by the individual at the time of facing challenges.
TASK
Apprentice challenge
This is one type of problem which assist an individual for developing the effective
communication skills at maximum level. This type of challenge assists the base of individual for
developing the useful ideas. During the time of studying in academics which is known as school
of technology and science, my potentiality and ability are highly increased and due to this I am
able to encounter different types of problems easily. At the time of facing various problems I
developed various skills in me which is described below -
 Communication skills – For gaining successful position in life it is highly essential for
every student to develop this skill effectively. For developing this skill in effective
manner in me I put full effort in various project. Due to the effective development of this
skill I am able to convey my thoughts and ideas to my team mates effectively. By using
this skill, I am able to reduce various types of issues with low time. When I studied
various types of assessment which is provided to me I easily understand that in which
way project is required to done. Due to the effective use of this skill I easily shared my
thoughts with others quickly.
 Time management – This type of skill also pays the crucial role in the life of individual.
During the time of study in college this skill assists me to become a good and disciplined
student. Due to the effective utilization of this skill I am able to accomplish my all task

which I get from the university in systematic way. In addition to this it also assists me in
my personal and professional life.
 Team work – It is also one type of skill which is required to each and every individual
for achieving various types of objectives in life. In the group all types of individuals have
been shown which possess different types of skills and knowledge. During the time of
doing work in group skill and knowledge are highly increased in low time. This type of
skill assists me for dividing the task in equal manner between team members. In initial
time I faced various types of problems because my team members did not complete the
task in time.
 Business skills – It is one of the hardest skill for me to develop because this skill
summarise the adoption of set of capabilities and skills. During the time of my studies
and facing issues I effectively developed this skill to me. With help of this skill I easily
take right decisions for solving the complicated issues quickly. Therefore, during the time
of applying this skill my problem solving ability are highly developed which assist me to
face various issues effectively.
Presentation challenge
The challenge of presentation is basically defined as a procedure where the presentation
is focusing on making audience comfortable and make them hero and in this way the information
are easily conveyed to them. During the time of working in Mark and Spencer in form of
marketing manager I required to provide presentation to my staff members regarding their
advantages, goods and others. At the time of doing job I effectively developed different types of
skills by maintaining communication with customers and employees. Those are -
 Communication – During the time of working in Mark and Spencer I mainly concentrate
on developing the communication skills effectively. Due to the effective use of this skill I
easily communicate the advantages of goods to customers and workers and in addition to
this solving the doughs of users. Due to effective use of communication skill I easily
reduced the challenge of presentation.
 Time management – During the time of profession it is highly essential for every
individual for completing the task in prescribed time. During the time of working in
TESCO, this skill assists me to allot to accomplish all the provided work in prescribed

time. For overcoming the various challenges of presentation this skill helped me very
much. In this way I am able to maintain my workers and customers in effective way.
 Team work – In my professional life this skill plays the crucial role. During the time of
working in Mark and Spence, I managed all the task in effective manner as a group. At
the time of working in this organization I easily evolved the skill of team work in me by
communicating fellow mates. Due to the effective use of this skill I easily faced various
types of challenges for long time.
 Business skills – At the time of working in Mark and Spencer organization as a
marketing manager I developed the skill of business into me for gaining the various
objectives of business. This type of skill assists me for overcoming the challenges from
presentation and in addition to this decision making and problem solving are highly
developed in me.
T-shirt challenge
The duty which is assigned to me is to introduce new t-shirt which effectively present the
logo of organization. During the time of performing this challenge various skills are developed in
me which is highly beneficial. Those skills are described below -
 Communication skills – During the time of working in company I received the task of
introducing new T-shirt in market. The skill of communication evolved in me during the
time of working in various task. Therefore, as a marketing manager still assist me for
facing various challenges.
 Team work – This type of skill is highly developed in me when I worked with my team
of marketing. For reducing the various challenges, I required to collaborate and
communicate with my team mates effectively.
 Time management skills - At the time of working on assignment of T-shirt I easily
developed my time management skill in short duration. As I required to finish all the
received work in prescribed time limit. In this way punctuality and discipline for
performing the work are highly developed in me
 Business skills – During the time of performing work I required to make interaction with
my workers and also with customers and convenience them to purchase the T-shirt. In
this way I am able to develop professionalism in me at higher rate.

An action plan which is used to develop which is used to develop this skill
For enhancing the communication skill effectively, the SMART analysis are used which
is described below -
 Specific – The main motive for developing this type of skill into me is that is to become a
effective presentation which assist me for gaining all professional goals in long term in
efficient way.
 Measurable – The various targets which are fixed by top level management are gained
by me with high performance. I used the communication skills effectively for develop my
professional career at higher rate.
 Achievable – I developed this type of skill with help of conducting the course of
diploma.
 Relevant – For showing the relevancy, the result of the diploma and certificates of my
courses has to be taken by me which make sure the authenticity and reliability.
 Time frame - to develop this skill within me I need at-least 8 months.

CONCLUSION
After the analysis of above report, it concluded that it is very essential for each individual
for evolving in professional life. With the effective use of various skills students are able to grab
all types of opportunities which are shown in front of them. This report concluded the three
challenges which assist me for developing various types of skills which includes business skills,
communication skills and time management. These type of skills plays major role to perform
various activities which includes finance, production and branding. After words SMART
analysis has been concluded in order to evolve communication skill within me to make my future
better.
