1DEVELOPING SMART GOALS According to my self-assessment from week1 discussion, I have some major issues regarding academic writing. In that self-assessment I have also mentioned that I am planning to read academic articles and journals to strengthen my knowledge. I have identified that my major weakness is the lack of utilization of specialized vocabulary for academic writing. At the same time, the tone of presentation in my writing is not appropriate for academic writing as well. From the beginning of 2010 the online digital tutorial system is one of the most emerging educational practices used globally (Carroll et al., 2013). Therefore, for the development of my academic writing skill I can use online tutorials from authentic website. Reading with examples can enlighten the perception of reader about the topic. Therefore, I need to read academic articles regarding academic writing style. Apart from that, for self examination is best practice of improvement (Negretti, 2012). Therefore, I should also check my improvement in academic writing through routine based writing test. The test must conclude to scores to gauge my present improvement and further potentialities. Aiming towards the development of academic writing skill the following SMART goals have been developed: SpecificMeasurableAttainableRealisticTimely Goal1Improvingmyacademic specified vocabulary By 80%through reading academic journalsand books Thatcan presentthe sample writing style Within next 2 month Goal2Gaining knowledge in use of referencing and citation Up to major 5 referencing Through online Thatcan visualizethe Within next 3
