INTRODUCTIONLearning and development are two essential elements that give benefit to organisation andindividual as well. Each firm aims to hire skilled employees in business unit so that operationalefficiency can be improved. Human resource manager is responsible for giving them training sothat people can raise their skills and can improve their knowledge (Armstrong and Taylor 2014).This makes them suitable for the post and workers get career development opportunities inorganisation. Present study is based on Hilton Hotel that is the leading firm. Hotel has raised itsbrand name by offering amazing services and products to its guests. Current assignment willdiscuss knowledge, skill and behaviour require in HR professionals. Furthermore, it will conductpersonal audit of Jane Cambridge in order to identify training and development needs of person.Report will create professional development plan in order to improve lacking points and developcapabilities in HR professional. In addition, contribution of HPW to employee engagement withreference to Hilton hotel will be discussed. Assignment will also explain different approaches ofperformance management and its significance will be illustrated.SECTION 1a) Knowledge, skill, behaviour require by HR professionalHR manager has to perform various role in organisation, individual is responsible formaking communication among all departments, giving training to staff members, managingsalaries, planning, recruiting etc. It is very important for the human resources manager of Hiltonhotel that to have necessary knowledge, skill and behaviour in order to perform their dutiessignificantly (Bratton and Gold, 2017).KnowledgeHR professional needs to have knowledge of process of recruitment, selection,compensation etc. As HR is responsible for implementing policies, hiring talented people,resolve remuneration issues, managing salaries etc. For Performing these roles individualis required to have knowledge of employment law and government (Brewster, Chung andSparrow, 2016).Furthermore, it is essential to have knowledge of customer and personal services. It isduty of HR that to build healthy relationship with employees and consumers. For thatindividual has to understand their requirements and have to fulfil their desires. Thus,having knowledge of principles of customer of personal services is essential.
Hr professional of Hilton hotel has responsibility to manage records thus, individualneeds to have knowledge of administration and management. This would support inmanaging people in business unit significantly (Jackson, Schuler and Jiang, 2014).HR professional of company should have knowledge of communication and technology.This may help in making effective coordination with all departments and creating healthyworkplace environment.SkillIt is essential for HR officer of Hilton hotel to have good listening and speaking skill.Individual is responsible for making communication with others thus, Hr has to listentheir views carefully and have to convey message in appropriate manner (Paillé and et.al.,2014).HR professional of Hilton hotel needs to have good negotiation skill. Human resourcemanager is responsible for resolving issues between employees and for that individualhave to conduct negotiation session so that correct decision can be taken in order toresolve the problem.HR officer of organisation needs to have good decision-making skill, it always supportsthe person in making correct judgement in each critical situation (Harrison and Lock,2017).Individual needs to have good planning skill because this may help in making effectiveplan in each critical situation.BehaviourHuman resource officer has to deal with employees and other higher authorities. For thatbehaviour of person needs to be positive. Individual has to motivate its peer groupmembers and for encouraging people it is essential to behave always positive. This mayalways assist in retaining skilled employees of company in business for longer duration.HR professional of Hilton Hotel always have to be motivated attitude, there should not beany kind of negative attitude otherwise, person will not be able to retain skilledemployees in firm for longer duration (Armstrong and Taylor 2014).b) Personal skill audit of Jane CambridgePersonal skill audit is helpful in analysing strength and weakness of individual. JameCambridge has necessary skills and lacking point, these are explained as below:
