1.1 Identify legislation and codes of practice that relate to handling information in health
and social care
The acts covered for the information handling in health as well as social care are the health and
Safety act 1974, as per the act you are required to work in agreed way in which the information is
protected. This can be done by Handling firewalls of the computer which include controlling as

allowing access to particular person on the basis of login should not be shared as the same will
help the company in protecting the data and also handling the data. Even the passwords should be
protected in order to save the password and secrecy of the password. The cabinets as well as
cupboards should be properly locked and should not be left open. The guards should not allow
any unauthorised person as per the act to access the information which is confidential. The
security signs of the person must be checked which includes card punching, thumb impression
etc.
