2DICTATORSHIP IN THE HISTORICAL CONTEXTS Question 1 There are various historical conditions which produce dictatorships in the world. This reasons may be nationalism or attempting to unite two countries into one. Other reasons include militarism, jealousy of other countries as well as military rule in a country. All these reasons cam give birth to dictatorship in a country. Question 2 According to the primary sources, the tyrannical regimes of the 20thCentury seemed to have been caused by the rise of leaders like Hitler in Germany, Mussolini in Italy as well as General Franco in Spain. All these leaders through the system of dictatorship created dictatorship in the world. Question 3 Benito Mussolini’s ideas of fascism states that the people of Italy must work for the country or the state. As stated by Knight (2013), these ideals proved to be popular in Europe during the inter war years because a lot of people in Italy itself had supported Mussolini and his ideals. It was because of these ideologies that Italy became one of the powerful nations in World War II.
3DICTATORSHIP IN THE HISTORICAL CONTEXTS Question 4 During the period of fascism in Italy, the United States of America was also suffering from the problems of racial discriminations on the blacks by the Americans themselves. This was similar to fascism because the blacks were discriminated by the Whites. At the same time, it was also different because the Jews were safe in America which they were not in Italy itself. Circumstances of racism produce this kind of state as is evidenced from the racial violence against the Blacks in America while the circumstance of equality prevents the rise of such a state (Griffin, 2013). Question 5 There are still the problem of nationalism and racism prevalent in many countries of the world which can lead to the rise of dictatorship in the world after World War II.
