INTRODUCTIONIn the present scenario, to give due consideration on the employees is highly fororganisations so as to keep them highly motivated. In today’s competitive era, employees have alot of options to switch over to other firms in case if they are not satisfied with the workingculture of present organisation. Therefore, it is significant for a firm to maintain a healthy andpositive organisational culture so that employees would stay with the firm for longer span oftime and contribute in attaining its set targets (Stanford, 2010). In the present report, there willstudy on organisational cultures followed by different organisations along with conceptsassociated with the same. Tesco, Hilton hotel and British Airways are the firms selected in thereport with reference to which primary as well as secondary research will be conducted. QuestionnaireUnder primary research, information will be collected based on demonstrating the way inwhich different styles of organisational culture are used. For the same, sample of 30 peopleincluding both managers and employees is selected to whom questions have been asked throughthe method of interview. These managers and employees were selected from Tesco, Qbic hoteland British Airways. Organisational cultureCulture that an organisation follows can be termed as the way in which a firm carries outits functions in terms of the values, norms, beliefs and customers its adopts. Organisationalculture is a set of moral principles, standards of behaviour that are normal, acceptedunderstandings and long established activities. Culture is the one that gives a sense of identity tothe organisation by which people assume about firm in terms that who they are and what they arestanding form as well as what they are doing and the way in which they should behave (Usha andRasmi, 2013). It can be termed as a link with which organisations holds the employees to staytogether. Also, it can be said that organisational culture consists of beliefs and attitudes whichare linked with the personality of organisations working in a company. In the words of Hofstede,(1984) ‘culture is a body of learned behaviour, a set of different beliefs, habits and traditionspossessed by distinct employees, shared by a group of people as well as learned by them(Suppiah and Singh Sandhu, 2011). Culture can be taken as a powerful force by which thebehaviour of individuals working in an organisation is being moulded and shaped. However, thefact cannot be ignored that it is highly subjective in nature and thus, to understand and writedown the same is difficult. Model of organisational cultureAccording to Edgar Schein, it is not possible for organisations to adopt a culture in asingle day as it is formed in a long duration of time based on various situations business hasfaced and when employees go through various changes. It is the result of changes that employeesadapt as per the external environment and solve problems. As the firm gains a lot of experiencesbased on their past results, they practice the work accordingly that ultimately forms the culture atworkplace.
